I used it for a month, but kept on hitting it on drive ways and on bumps on the road, not the intercooler but the pipes that go under.

A little cutting here and there, and some air restrictions.

Once it's mounted, temp on engine ran hotter, so I installed an electric fan in front of it to cool it spliced into the factory fan, but it was not running cooler so I modified the factory fans for both fans to run as if it was one running on high speed and low speed, that got the car running better... but I added another fan in the front for the hotter days out here in SoCal.

That my friend was a big mistake, flying low on the 91 freeway one night at about 145 the fans came on and the car was all over the place because of the air coming in front under where lifting the front. After that I removed the fans and just the two running like one worked the best for me.

Woh, that's not pretty.

Learning moment for me here, as I've not had mine out yet. I see the failing hose to the pump (had heard and seen this problem on TGO), and I see the decaying sock (had not seen that one before).

But what is the rest of the black material that is flaking apart? What is it's purpose, and how to replace/reproduce it ?

That was the foam rap in the pump for the vibration

Was that I/C designed for the TTA or just any F car? or was it G body specific.
If I'm reading this right, it hangs with the in/out pointing down??

It was made for a tta, i'm not 100% sure which way it goes...

Just took another look at the pipes that came with and yes the in/out is pointing down.
