Anyone familiar with 87 Callaway Twin turbo VETTE?

RatFink

TORQUE
I've always wanted a Callaway twin turbo vette. The 86-89 ran 10psi of boost stock, and did like 13.15 @ 108 mph on pump gas. I bet you could throw one of Julios Alky kits on there and turn up the boost to 15psi and run mid 12's.
Anywhoo, just dreaming, I found one on e-bay that is sweet with only 12K miles. The price has to be off though, no way it would sell for less than $20K in that nice of original condition IMO.

Make a fun daily commuter car.

I have a magazine article and have seen the video of the GNX vs the Callaway at a dragstrip. Good article and the grainy ideo is pretty cool. GNX was the clear winner IIRC.

Goofy yet very functional hood. Looks like a nice car!

JasoN

Yeah, the hood was actually functional from what it looks like. The design was kinda old in 87, I remember the "Greenwood Daytona Twin Turbo hood" from about 1981. Got Roller skates and a disco ball?

I believe those NACA(yes,NACA) style scoops first appeared on the Pontiac Grand ams of 1973-74.

Ja_son,

While I'm not a fan of the Espada, every car-loving kid growing up in the late 70s & early 80s had a Countach poster on their wall! Whippersnapper! :wheelchair:
