ANYONE SEEN THIS ARTICLE 180089021425 EBAY ITEM #

Yep got that one .... any many more :-)

Chris, Jim, George and others. We should look at scanning all those articles along with the front cover and convert them into PDF and host them on the site .... not sure about copyright issues doing that but if we only do the original articles from back in 1988 and 1989 everyone would have access to all the cool road tests from back when Pontiac announced the TTA.

Its time consuming but something I been wanting to do for years and if we agree on how to split it between a number of us (to avoid duplicate work) and also which format (size, resolution etc) then we could get it down fairly quickly and without too much effort.

Thoughts?

I have all but 2 of the major articles still in the magazines. I am sure that between all of us, we have them all. As far as scanning them all, I wouldn't mind. Let's do it!!!!!!

I've got a bunch my self! If you guys start scanning I will! I have to dig them all out! Do all of you guys have this one...

Yep that one and pretty much every single magazine there is out there.

I think we need to coordinate a bit just not to double up on work ... also as I said we need to agree on size, resolution and final file format as well or we will end up with various quality items out there.

I have 3 boxes of magazines (all TTA) and 1 large bin of books. Caution: this can turn into a sickness! I also have another box or more of all GN/TR/GNX articles. With eBay bringing crazy prices lately on single GNX articles I need to start posting some.

Here's a little trick I use for storing the magazines. I used to use those plastic holders that you could use to put the magazines in a 3-ring binder. But when you stand those up the magazines sag, plus that method wasn't very efficient for my growing collection. So I started using a system based on hanging files. If you buy a standard letter size hanging folder you can cut it in half and hang 2 magazines, 1 from each half. Then you can hang these in a variety of file cabinets, file boxes, etc. They are easy to sort through one at a time and if the magazine has info on the spine you can spot the magazine in a second.

George :wheelchair: liked the idea so much he started using it. Guess I should have filed for a patent. DontKnow:

So now you all know another one of my secrets. Enjoy.

Thx Ron, I've seen it at George's house years ago and I'm sure he claimed it as his invention back then :WOOT:

I need to find a good way to keep my large pile of magazines and that might be the best way doing it to keep them tidy but still easy to find any of them.

That is the mag I was going to bid on last week, but it went for around 35 dollars with shipping. "White Heat " was the nickname for the TTA.

I hope to have it soon. I still need to get the build number too!

I have that magazine, and do the stacking of mags the way Ron does, but only for the 20th TTA magazines.
I never told anyone I came up with the idea.
I found out that if you pile up three crates or more, this way, they (the crates) start breaking! They can't stack with all the weight!
No way I can do all my magazines this way, I have too many!
Note to everyone:
This way of stacking/hanging magazines is Ron's way.
How way that Ron?
I'll be your West Coast dealership for this style of magazine storage.
I'll be happy to take a 50% cut! Ha!

As George said, the boxes or crates get heavy when you fill them up with magazines. I use the cardboard file boxes you can buy and most any office supply store but I don't stack them on top of each other. Instead, I use those configuable wire cube organizers you can buy at Target or elsewhere. The boxes fit nearly perfect inside each cube and then 3 high isn't an issue. And you can pull out any box without having to move the others. :idea5:

Damn you guys are hardcore. I didnt even know thay had that many magazine articles out there.....

nope don't have that one, would be recieving it soon if you didn't beat me out on it on ebay this week :censor: :bash:

Also I've got a list of magazines with TTAs in them in a Excell spreadsheet format, I'll send it to Chris to host and then post then if you guys can check what you have against the list and if you have magazines that aren't on the list I can add them and we can keep a master list. The way I have it set up though is so you can print it off and keep track of how many you have of each too.

This Motor trend test was not very favorable to the TTA. It had the car running quarter in 14 sec and some change with a low mph. I think the guys at Motor trend could not launch the cars properly.

For those of you who do not have the magazine, here is a link to the GTA Source Page for an online version of it.

Well,
Since I have so many car magazines.......
P9160569.jpg

You can see why I can't just go no more than 3 high!
I have over 25 milk crates filled with car magazines, that won't fit into my two bookcases!
You can see a couple of those plastic crates, with the magazines set onto the cut in halk file holders (not a very good view though, sorry).
Also, at the right side of the picture, is a black Corvette convertible door mirror.
The Corvette door mirror for the ragtop has a filler attached to it. It would fit flush against the door pillar on the vette.
I bought it to see if it would work the same on the thirdgens.
Too bad it doesn't! Oh well, I tried.
It would have to be changed around at a different angle.:eam:
I will have to take some photos of my 20th TTA magazines.
I have a list of them, but I also list if there is an article, or just a picture, or just a mention, in the magazines.

Later. :beach:
