Are the TTA rims the same as GTA rims?

Looking to store my rims and tires since I have the original tires still on it with 7k miles, but want to replace the gold rims with some exact replacements, so I was wondering if the GTA rims were exactly the same as the TTA's?

Hi Rob,
Yes, they are. Just make sure you get the gold rims that have "dimples" on the end of the gold "laces" that meet the chrome outer rim (just like your rims). In 1987, there were no "dimples". But even those and the black Trans Am (same rims) would work (just the color would be different).

Yes!!!

The 1987 Rims are slightly different as George stated. The 1987 rim is actually a 2 piece rim and is actually lighter. You can tell this by looking at the inside of the rim and you will see a weld lie were the outer rim butts up to the inner rim.

The 86-87 Cross Lace wheels where redesigned because of a weak center hole where the center cap snaps in.When mounting or balancing these older style wheels the hole would strech out, then the cap would not stay in anymore. When the newer wheels were made they added the dimples on the outer edges of the spokes.
