No, I don't know the person that has it, I was considering trying to get the car if I did not get the one I have now. It looked like a good clean car for that amount. Here's the link again: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=531442337

The car is about 300 miles away from me, so I haven't seen it in person.

Well I ran a carfax on the car because I was GOING TO BUY IT. Car fax came back and said that in 1998 the car was smog tested in HOUSTON and had 78,000 MILES at that time!!! SCRATCH THAT CAR!!!!

I did that too! But I did email the guy about it and he said car fax was messed up and he knew about it and they were supposed to correct it. Carfax does have a screwed up database occassionally.
I ran my coworkers brand new F150 in it that he just bought from a dealer, and it said it was inspected in July and had 8k miles on it and he just bought it in December brand new!
Its too easy to miskey a VIN number by one digit and mess up the record for a car, keep that in mind.
I'd try to get in contact with the guy and talk to him about the car before you discount it, if it does have 78k on it, you'll be able to tell.
