It's more for turbo insurance on the TB's/TTA's.

A ported shroud (S cover) turbo will decrease the chances of surge if you have any... which I doubt with the stock turbo in your sig.. When you upgrade turbo's, which I am sure you will someday, get a S cover and you should not have any issues with surge.

Guys with really large compressors run BOV to prevent the compressor nut from loosening.

IMHO, I'd spend my money elsewhere.

what if someone gives it to me lol .... thanks for yalls input !!!! i wont do it cause i would hate to think anyone but my wife talks behind my back ..
 
and yes scan master being installed as we speak ,,,,,,,,,, yea me . shhhhh dont let the wife find out lol..

They're still not needed on these cars, especially on a stock application. You'd have to modify the up-pipe in order to use it so unless you have some fabrication skills it's going to end up costing you a decent amount.
 
yep not for me guys . just check with the field reps . thanks for the help!!!!!! just thought it might stop all the people from saying is that really a turbo . you know kill them with sound .......

An electric exhaust cutout would put an end to the people's doubt and increase pwr.

I was kinda thinking along those lines but deleted my post.

My thought was that if people don't know it is a turbo, then you need more power and need a tune...
 
only reason 1 of my cars has a BOV is because it is welded to a custom up pipe .. Ive not had the car in a high boost situation to let off an even see if it works yet .
 
yes guys i turned to the dark side , and came right back . im safe for now ,the cut out is nice thought though ....:thumbup:
 
General rule of thumb with a turbo Buick...

BOV = A Ricer thing. Just keep that in mind and you'll figure out what to do here! :thumbup:
 
Hey now... Mine came with a BOV installed when I bought it. It ain't that bad.

...Wouldn't spend money to put one on though...
 
lol well if it came with one we'll let you off the hook for now! :) I've been around literally hundreds and hundreds of turbo Buick's since I've bought mine years ago and I've seen I think ( 1 ) on another turbo Buick and even he said he wished he never installed it!

It's just one of those ricer only things! :)

thanks , im getting there . these cars take alot more than a driver , meaning its alot more thought on where u want to be with them . its not like you flip a switch , u really need to find yourself . stock , race , or crazy all out ,with that said . Im trying to find the spot where i want to be , so haveing more than one would be perfect .:eeks:
 
Yes you are correct it is way easier to have more than one. I'm not bragging I'm just sayin. I always am workin on one so it's so nice to have the other.

You would agree with this statement too then..

Having more then means there is ALWAYS something to do. For instance, just when I thought the TTA was "done", I now get a code 42. I think I fixed it thanks to the help of Rich, but that little task required a few hours. Now, the GN has a battery drain. Like I said, always something!

Of course, if you want a fast car without these issues you have to buy something new and open up your wallet.
 
Ya well my fast car is old and my wallet seems to always be wide open. Ugh!!!
Not that I mind, I have alot of down time here in Edmonton. I am slowly working away on 365 every day, just a little bit at a time so I don't get frustrated.
