From the first night I took the TTA home and knew I had a special ride that needed a great home. But I had a slight problem. Something was clunking near the engine. After sweating it for a couple hours, I found the flywheel to be loose. Whooosh! After, we tightened it she ran hard and good.
Couple months past and I got the bug. I wanted the converter off because I heard they really plug these Cars up. Well, I won't go there, you all know I ended up getting a Hooker exhaust on the TTA. I had regrets at first but now I love it.
The TTA came with the ATR Pitbull Chip. Wow 26 degree timing! Very aggressive and I could not manage run over 12.5 psi without knock. So I decided to the change to chip the the Thrasher 93. The gentlemen who I bought the TTA gave me it to me. Well, after figuring out the Anti Theft problem I was still knocking hard. After adjusting the TPS and the AIC, I finally had it running decent. I'll tell ya, I was knocking 24 degrees at one point with the Pitt Bull and 11 degrees with the Thrasher at WOT testing at 18 psi. Then added was a Adj. fuel regulator with a Volt booster and it took out a little bit of knock out. Well after FINALLY listening to you all I ordered the Eric's chip and can know run about 14.5 psi with no knock on 93 pump gas.
Then I ordered the Racetronix fuel kit w/hotwire. Installation went perfect. We took our time and I could not be happier with the mod. Now, I can run about 16 psi without knock.
Shorty after, I changed all the fluids except the rear end. I also had my TV cable for the tranny was properly adjusted. Now everything is PERFECT.
Now, I take the TTA out weekly and have put 415 miles on it this spring through summer. I really enjoy hearing the turbo spool and the performance of the TTA. Not to mention, she is really a eye popper!
The reason I am writing about my experience is because I want all the new owners to learn from my mistakes. Listen to this board and find a good tech you can NOT go wrong.
