bout that time...winter storage is coming soon

I love Texas... These cars are theoretically at their best in the winter months, no storage for me!

(Although, I say theoretically because mine seems to be broken for months at a time when we have the cold air... Bah.)

You fair weather guys all suck! :boxing: I put mine to sleep last month. I miss taking it out already! If the roads are clean and clear I will sneak it out in the winter months as long as it's not too cold. They do love the cold air! :)

I know I will miss driving mine too. Not looking forward to it sitting idle for 5 months or so. Going out, starting it and sitting in it isnt the same as driving it!! For all of us that live in snowy climates, lets hope for a short, quick winter season, and I hope it is not a repeat of last year, because around here it was BAD.

I actually kind of think it works out for the best in ways. Since I've been in school for the last 4.5 years, I've had limited driving time with my TTA. However, the times I do get to take it out I feel like I appreciate it that much more. During the school year I'm lucky to go home once every 5 weeks, but as long as the roads are nice I take it out to a local cruise-in or just go for a nice 50 mile cruise in the country. When I was in high school and I was home year round, the winter was when I did cleaning and modifications. It's amazing the projects you'll come up with to keep you busy, and then you don't have to worry about taking the car down when it's nice out.

Well I do have a couple projects I hope to complete on the car before the reunion next summer, headliner and re-covering rear seats, so maybe the winter time will seem to go faster, but I am really a fair weather person, if it wasnt for family and my business, I would move farther south in a heartbeat!!

Not so cold here, except when a cold front dips south. Will not be putting in storage, but will be working on it quite a bit with the cooler weather. Still in the 80s here. Can't wait for cooler temps. Just hope it don't get much below freezing at night.:beach:

I drained the alcohol from the alky tank and pump. I added the cold climate windshield washer fluid.

Anyone else do this? Joe

I did that for both my tta's just last weekend, that way alky is not sitting in the pump all winter long. It is recommended by razor to do this. It extends the life of the pump, and is pretty easy to do.

I am a British engineer currently working in Iowa and I will be going home for nearly a month to celebrate Christmas with my family. I own a Ford Mustang and I was really worried regarding the steps to be taken for keeping my vehicle for storage. But all my worries have now vanished into thin air thanks to the information provided by bigdom.

No problem buddy!!

Although I have gotten snow on the ground two days in this winter weather,
It has melted by noon both days. ;)
And I must say, I did take my car out, as we went out to dinner with some friends.
By the time we left the eatery, it was 31 degrees out, with some ice showing on top of the car.
But I must say, on the drive home, the car seemed like it had 100 more horsepower. ;)
It was fun getting the car sideways a few times. :)
