Build Number

Well post the vin if you like we have some guys who have a good idea of the cars and car numbers and should post for you or try PHS.. http://www.phs-online.com/ Once you find out don't forget to send your info into Chris and have him add your TTA to our registry!

Vik,

If we're talking about the car I sold you then the number is #130. If you like you can contact PHS but trust me when I say it's #130. Is there a reason why you think it is #139?

How do I find out what build number my car is?

the person I bought it from told me that's what it was.

I need to send off and get my number as well. My car vin # is between car #6 and #7 on the registry. I think someone has some wrong info, don't know if its #6 or #7 but my vin is clearly in the middle.:wall:

The build number is not necissarily in sequence wiht the VIN number.

Jan,

From what I've seen and learned over the years the VIN numbers are sequentially aligned with the build numbers. That is the only way to actually determine the build numbers since there was no other documentation that said "this VIN = build #____". If you know what the last six digits of the VIN are that will give you either a range for the build number or in some cases an exact number. I'm assuming PHS has all the VINs so this is how they come up with the build numbers.

FYI, there were some VINs that were numerically sequential (meaning the VINs were numerically in order). These cars were chosen in order from the assembly line at Pontiac and ended up as TTAs. From what I recall there were several instances where 3-4 VINs were in exact order.

Just what I've been told, without all the 1550 VIN numbers and build numbers it's hard to say either or I guess ...
