Generally when you buy a new car, the warranty starts when you take title. (the first title I mean. The car you buy has to be on MSO, never having been titled before)
We all know there are many TTA's around, still on MSO, with almost no miles on them. (not to mention '76 eldorado convertibles [the last american convertible]) So, if one were to buy a car like that, and title it, starting the 3 year warranty, would it be valid? I bought 1 new tta, but it was already titled and warranty timed out.
Would Pontiac take car of it even though PAS is dead?
Would gm take care of it even though Pontiac is dead?
Was PAS responsible for paying for warranty repairs? (I know the car is legally manufactured by pas. not pontiac.) but the warranty papers that come with it state that pontiac is providing the warranty. that seems weird. Maybe pontiac provided the warranty, and warranty work, but pas had to pay. Or maybe not.? Or maybe pas paid only for the work done to parts that pas changed from the basic firebird.
I know that pas paid pontiac for the labor for applying the emblems in the cases where the emblems could not be applied at the pas factory, because my car has the invoices about that.
Also, who is listed as the owner of the car on the MSO? GM? Pontiac? or PAS?
Aside from these questions, what if it was a Camaro or ZR1, for which the company is still alive. Could we get the 3 year warranty for one of those if we bought a new one on mso? Is there a time constraint?
I used to think about this, when I was having trouble with my cars many years ago. Now I realize that even if I had a warranty, I would not let a dealer get is filthy hands near my car. They are so corrupt. Once billed me for air conditioning service on my 1LE formula. (same visit they chipped the windshield) 1LE cars don't have a/c.
Plus, they are so filthy, clumsy, and disrespectful of our "old used cars" with the usual swipes of grease they leave on the visors and headliner from their hands, and the lower doorpanel map pocket, and carpets from their feet.:wall:
