ACC makes floor mats that fit correctly in the passengers side where there is a huge indentation for the passengers feet. Most others wrinkle badly because a flat mat wont fit on a surface that is shaped like a spoon. Like that passenger foot well.
I have some new ACC mats, but someone ordered them with TURBO trans am emblem embroidery so they don't look factory. At least they make them so they fit right and I know I could order some without the embroidery.
The problem is the color is not correct. They are colored in their "Cognac" color. If you look at the mats by themselves the color looks right. Beautiful. But put them in the car and they look too dark and too caramelly.
Having said that, I haven't found anything better for mats except NOS which seems to be unobtainium and they rot on the shelf anyway because of the foam rubber backing.
However, If you got a carpet set in Cognac and Mats to match, it would look perfect. Perhaps a little better than perfect becuase the cognac goes with the leather better than the stock carpet color.
ACC says in their website that the carpet they sell matches the mats they sell. NOT that the carpet they sell matches the carpet your car came with. The quality is as good or better than the stock carpet. Probably about 20% better actually. The weave doesn't show up as much when you look at it. You know how you can sometimes see little squares of weave if you look at your carpet at a certain angle. The ACC carpet doesn't seem to show that.
The only reason not to get their carpet is if it has to match NOS mats. Or if your car will get judged by someone who knows the exact hue of the original. The only problem is there will always be NEW TTA's to compare the old ones to. By old I mean more than 5,000 miles, or god forbid, a 5 digit mileage.
Another thing you could do is have them send you samples of all there versions of beige and camel and tan and beechwood and buckskin and any other carpet color names that they have and see which matches best before you order. I imagine that the cognac is closest but could be wrong.
If you are not picky just order the Cognac. Their carpets probably are formed properly too, like their floor mats are, so that they fit the passenger side without wrinkling.
