Any of you guy's and gal's have any wezz-bang new fangled ways of cleaning carpet ? New products you know that work good ?

I have a Hoover Dual V Steamvac with an upholstery attachment. I dont use the soap in it, I use Citrus foam cleaner/degreaser. Spray the foam on the dry carpet, wait a few minutes, then use the steam vac with minimal water to extract the dirt and grime. Go over it twice. It works really well on car carpet and cloth seats. The waste water container is usually black. You'd be surprised how dirty stuff is, even when it looks fairly clean.

I had some really good luck getting some pretty dark spots out of my otherwise super nice cloth seats with the Turtle Wax Oxy Power Out canned stuff you can get from Advance. Haven't tried it on the carpet yet, need to pull the leather seats and do it.

I have a professional steam cleaner from back in the day when I used to clean carpet for a living. The most important thing is to rinse out whatever solution you use to clean the carpets. Any residue will attract dirt in no time and the carpet will look like crap again. When my machine was broke I got similar results with a wet/dry vac and hot water misted through a hose. Scrub the carpet with carpet soap and a brush, Mist on hot water and rinse the crap out of it with the wet/dry vac. Make sure you don't soak it if you clean it in the car. If you can, clean the carpet outside the car, rinse really well and let it dry in the sun.

The carpet is out of the car, guess i could always hit it with a pressure washer; that would rinse it good... i have been using a Spot Bot mach. on it.

Rob - scrub it then pressure wash it. Then hang it in the sun.
