hey guys i havent been on for awhile...put the tta away two weeks ago:cry:and was in the process of selling my iroc when last minute i decided i just cant part with her, and even though the money was right and she seemed like a cool girl i just couldnt see it go...it was my dream car since i was a kid and you cant put a price on childhood dreams...so i decided im gonna do a cool project with it to keep me from getting bored with it (this happens alot with me lol) im gonna make the car period correct in terms of adding accesories in other words im putting myself in 1988 and doing the upgrades that were popular at the time(with some modern technology ofcourse) so heres what i got planned lemme know what you think!!
pics will follow

1). found the original pinstriper who was really big in the 80's he did all my fathers cars plus cher and paul stanley from kiss and many others!!!
well i gave him the car and told him to put himself in the 80's and do up the car tastefully...boy did he deliver beautifull black and silver stripes over red!!!

2). three piece louvers for the rear ordered....feelin nostalgic yet haha

3).2.5in daytona iroc hood...picked up today found a good used one saveda lil over 400.00
4). LEBRA enough said...haha im actually tryin to look for an original 80's word that had iroc z printed on it...if anyone knows were i can find one lemme know!!
5). Lear Seigler contour seats!!! for those of you who dont know what these are...they are basically the irocs version of the t/a recaros...very 80's lookin they were those seats the had camaro written down them in either blue black or red very nice inmho!!
6). last but not least the system and lighting up the interior!! here ill need any of your guys help i know custom boxes for the trunk were big in the 80's so im tryin to work something up for that and i also wanna light up the interior wit led's any ideas lemme know thanks!!!!

Good move keeping a car you really like-wish I would have done that-now wouldnt be buying them back-costing me more in the long run I think.

3 piece louvers are cool-look much more nostalgic and period correct-I have them on the 82 MSE T/A I just bought.

Lear Seiglers-also a great 80's item-my son has a set of them in his 4th gen camaro-they get a lot of complements by the younger crowd-most of them have never seen them before.

Lebra's were also the rage in the 80's, everyone had them on their cars.

Sounds like you have some great idea's, keep us posted and take some pictures.

If your getting louvers, your gonna need a bra. Localmotion stickers were big back then too.

Back then,
Even smoked out taillight covers and front headlight covers were big.
I never used LeBra, I always went with Colgans, which I still have and use at times.
Try and find a chrome Hooker Roll Bar as well. ;)
Oh ya, and grow a mullet! :)
And wear a colored T shirt a size too small.
I'n not going to say anything about super tight and super short shorts. ;)

George :beach:

A few additional items to really make it authentic: Louvered eye shades, a Dokken tape (no cds or mp3 players), Stone wash denim jacket,

Ok you guys are bringing back some 80's memories!! Make sure that tight t-shirt was from that concert you just went to, and dont forget the tinted windows so the boys cant see what you're smoking or drinking!:cool1:

lol this is great, its cool to see what irocs mean to diff people all over the country...here in ny irocs were deffiinitly guido cars (Italian Retard Out Cruisin) lol...they were usually synonymous with italians wearing sergio tacchini tracksuits slicked back hair, white keds and massive amounts of gold chains haha even eddie murphy realized that in his italians that just saw rocky skit from raw "Listen little italian whiteman, y dont u just hop in your iroc z28 and drive yourself home" hahaha love it, and yet unfortunatly this was my fam in the 80's (dad included) which is how i knw this much at only 24, i looked in my family albums hahaha

Dom - you are going to have to get yourself some cavariccis and capezios and grow a DA. Then use the term mint when you think something is great.

Bad clothes, big hair, underpowered cars (except for the TTA), & good music. ttarider
Now stop poking fun at us old folks, you young whipersnapper! :wheelchair:

Fast Times at Ridgemont High-good pick, Jeff Spicoli and Mr Hand!!

Also when having a party you could have MTV on for music and get the added benefit of visuals (the video). Note to the younger gen, they actually played music constantly, none of the reality show garbage was even a concept back then. "I want my MTV"
