Correct replacement muffler

I bought a Dynomax muffler for my TTA. Purchased it from rockauto.com I went to install it today and found that the outlets are only 2 1/4" instead of 2 1/2" . The one that I bought will probably be correct for a reg. T/A or pos. and iroc? What is a good sounding/flowing replacement muffler for our cars? Flowmaster? Magnaflow? Borla? What are you guys using and what is the part #?

The exhaust and muffler on the TTA is a standard 3rd Gen exhaust, only the dual stainless tips are specific to the TTA.

However some 3rd Gen's of course had a smaller (diameter) exhaust and others had the larger one like ours; so model dependent.

here is a shot of the muffler that is on the car. Is it factory stock? looks like my entire exhaust is 2 1/2" After market? It would explain why the Dynomax is incorrect.

The factory 2 3/4" intermediate pipe is crimped down to fit into the muffler.

The p/n kymme posted is an exact fit factory replacement. Before I purchased from Summit, I called Walker and they kindly sent me a copy of the design/specs of each end diameter, etc.
The muffler in your pics looks to be factory correct from what I can tell.
 
I'm just looking to change the muffler not the intermediate pipe.


Anyone have a good replacement muffler?

I actually need one now and would really like some opinions. I'll try another Walker but only if it's my only option! I'd like it a little louder and a direct replacement.

Looks like I may go with the Walker. Only direct replacement I can find. I've used Walker quite a few times because I've always liked the sound, however their aluminum muflers haven't lasted too long. This one is stainless and looks pretty cool.

I like it! A little louder than stock at idle. A little deeper too. Don't know how it sounds at throttle yet. Walkers usually get pretty loud.

I went with hooker it came with similar tips but they are larger than stock.. Car sounds good with the 212/212 cam
 
If I had been planning to do the entire system I would have looked for a bolt on complete kit. It kind of snowballed into a complete replacement.
