Daily driving TTA and iac disintegrating

We had a thread a while back about daily driving your tta. Well I daily drove my tta this summer as much as I could for having other cars. So far I drove it to work and one trip to Vancouver. The car has 93500 miles now and had 85763 miles at beginning of summer. It was super fun and I looked cool all summer with my car, I did have some troubles though....

Got a few window chips
Alky pump cracked and leaked (lucky I had a spare)
Bolt holding cam sensor backed off and took me a month to figure out along with help from board members
Exhaust rotted a big hole so I bought new exhaust
Now my iac fell apart on the way home, I thought my cruise was on but it wasn't. On the highway I didn't notice but at a red light I discovered it was idling at 2800 rpm. I thought it was the MAF sensor but after changing out the MAF with a spare I noticed my iac dangling by a wire under the up pipe.

Crazy!! Hey??
Anyways just thought I'd share my experience. Atleast I didn't blow a head gasket

Did you use a angle for the iac with that big Maf pipe?

when I get the fp in TTA#299 I plan on driving it some this winter ive never put tags or insurance on it. No snow here or salt in sc

Easy fix!

Yeah mine stopped working last summer. 20+ years old sensors...

I've replaced cam sensor, crank, iac, cts ...

I did use an angle iac for the big maf pipe and to fit the relocated temp sensor on the under side of the up pipe.

This broken iac is from my other tta 733, the maf is normal size.
