Dead Forum

Well there was 1550 TTA made. So let's see.. how many old timers purchased them for an investment who don't even own a computer.. then how many of the 1550 are left you think? Maybe 800 ish? So that brings the numbers under 500 I think of the amount of people who would actually maybe come on here! Also figure in how many people just lurk on this site for info and never post! This site gets a lot of traffic but I think most members just stop in.. see what's new.. and move on.. Glad you post! Keep up the good work! :)

I usually look for the orange paper (new post), otherwise I usually just stop on in and leave. Plus, my car doesn't ever seem to have problems that I would need to have a question answered. :-?

Not to mention, no drama and or bickering like on ALL the other sites!

Save the drama for your mama!

I just joined this site but I strongly beg to differ, and thats a pretty bold statement  . Ever been to TransAmCountry.com?? Check it out sometime.... :o

Am I wrong to beleive this site is geared for the 89 TurboTrans Am, and not the 80 Turbo Trans Am as well?

Fine then......I'm outta here!   Some peoples attitudes are just plain childish. I guess other Turbo Trans Am's (1980-81) aren't good enough for you. Have fun with your dead community forum site. :o

don't sugar coat it .... tell us how you REALLY feel !!! 8)

Hey RT80BIRD, a Turbo Trans Am is a Turbo Trans Am. Even though most of the guys here have the newer TTA, that doesn't mean you have to never post here again. Do what you will, but we'll still be here if ya need help.

Peace!

I post over on TransAmCountry too. Under a different name.
Ever view the Ebay section over there?
Everyone cuts the cars and owner's down nonstop.
Not on the other sections though.
A few of us have second gen Turbos, me included.
But this site is geared more towards the third gen Turbo Trans Am.
Doesn't mean you can't stop by and visit, as well as ask questions. You may not get an answer right away, but that doesn't mean you are not welcome here.
Copping an attitude about this site is alittle bit uncalled for.

George

  Well, maybe I took it wrong, but for the administrator to reply in big bold letters like that with an exclamation mark seemed like yelling, and that any other year other than 89 was not a part of the site. Maybe if the response was more like " We are geared towards the third gen,but any year is welcome, as long as its a Turbo Trans Am" or something along those lines. I just thought that was uncalled for as the head of the site to reply in that fashion to a new person. Plus I had a crappy day  . I am desprately looking for a site all about the 80 Indy Pace Cars, or even a small club of owners, but still have not found one. :x

I know every site has its own car it favors, here its the 89 Turbo. I think if it broadened into the second gen turbo cars (80-81)just as heavy, there would be more traffic. I just typed in turbotransam.com and this site came up.

Over on Transamcountry, the 77-78 Bandit editions seem to take center stage, but if you dont have a Bandit car, its welcomed just the same. :D

RT80Bird - There are a bunch of '80 and '81 TTA owners over at Transamcountry.com. When I was troubleshooting problems with my '81 earlier this year, they were very helpful.

Make sure you do a good search on that site, even just "turbo". You'll get a lot of good information.

Yes,
This site is geared more towards the '89 TTA, but still, feel free to join and post.
Some of us here, either have had the second gen Turbo cars, or like me, still own them.
Don't get mad at people not answering you question, as again, most people have not owned one those years.
Most of these owners have owned Grand Nationals. And only know the little Buick Turbo V-6.
I would love to have this site for both the generations of Turbo cars.
Doesn't keep me from posting.

George

...

I also lurk in the shadows ...even though I dont have a TTA anymore...but know that feeling....

I as well have a 81 turbo ta pace car. I post at transamcountry.com. I love my 81 ta. I always get upset when people mock the 301T. I have done some very minor mods and the car is very quick IMO. I drove an 84 GN earlier this week with 80K on the clock stock and I know my car is faster than it.

Again they weren't rockets but they deserve respect IMO.

Well, I'd say yes, it's mostly geared towards the '89 TTA....BUT....there is a section here for the early 80's TTA's. (301 Turbo Discussion) Just because you have the 2nd Gen doesn't mean that the only section you can post in is the 301 Turbo discussion area. Everyone I've exchanged messages with here has been nice, respectful and courteous, and I don't expect that to change.

What are you so hurt for? It's all good bud, enjoy!

I hear ya man, quick is always relative to what you're comparing it to. And by all means, please correct me if I'm wrong (or out of line), but the big knock on the 301's is it's restrictive nature. (small cylinder head chambers, etc, etc) They are pretty tough to make "fast" just by how they came from the factory. No disrespect, just a statement. Let me know what you think?

Wow, this came out of no where! Before my time. Sad thing is, I read the whole thing thinking it was from today until I noticed the dates.:wtf:

I couldn't help myself, the banter was like fine chocolate...banter...what the hell?

There are some 301 turbos running in the 11s and 12s.
I use NOS on my turbo 301 car, but I never raced it at the track.
Why?
My 20th TTA is much faster. ;)
And nothing wrong with bringing back old posts. :)
