Denso O2 Sensor Or Heated?

Depends on what brand sensor you have, Bosch anything is trash. I've used a NGK heated sensor for well over 10 years from Caspers and never have had to replace it, ran maybe 10 -15 passed with leaded fuel before I had meth inj, still has excellent cross-counts in 90 secs, well over the 255 required. Denso would be the next choice and definitely less expensive. If the x-counts on your current sensor are over 255 in 90 secs, then its still just fine.

Could be a number of things, have to hook up a scan tool and check the 02 cross-counts, should cycle from 0-255 in less than 90 secs, if it does, its fine and look for the rich condition else where, ignition would be the next thing to look at. See what the BLMs are at idle, then check fuel pressure. If BLMs are say higher than 138, then look for vacuum leak. BLMs over 128 means its adding fuel, the more over the more it adds. Depending on the chip they usually max out in the 140s.

I worked in pressure pumping for years with BJ services/BakerHughes as field sup. and had a company p/u had no need for a personal toy car but a had this and a gn for over 10 years just sitting in the back yard for, sold the gn to my brother and still have the findy sitting till one day I took it to Irwindale to run a couple passes in there 1/8 mile track, fill the tank with 112 octane straight from the pump in Montclair long story short parked the car in the back next to the pool my girls where playing had to move the car from there just a couple feet away shut it off hood was turning black on the driver side popped the hood flames coming out I put the fire out didn't bother looking at the damage just parked it in the back sad and disappointed it sat for years till slowly I started to put some tlc in it bought a bunch of parts from kirban, rjc, casper, turbo tweak, full throttle, Poston, ect. and had parts from gn Kenny bell stuff anyways finally running I got layed off so now this is my day deiver/ work horse.

Now its just fine tunning this to where it will run good and it is but I know it can run better, I have the scanmaster on and running, but know that the car has an exhaust leak on the turbo side that I've been fight for years, and the mechanics just put that hi temp silicone but the cat was plugged at one point, well the inside melted inside wish I had a digital back then...I use to run this horse like I stole it with fuel my friend use to bring from the airport back when we raced in the streets, any ways I just bought a copper sheet to make some primary individual gaskets just for that side, then I know the car will run where I can tune it better.

Exhaust leaks will cause improper fueling as well since the o2 will be reading way off. Then running it that way for too long starts to cause all sorts of problems. Running rich is very bad for the cat conv, O2, plugs, etc

Counts 0 - 255 under 30 seconds and blms 129 at idle, have a small vacuum leak at the top of the fpr because of a broken washer, other than that car is running ok not to bad...trans tends to slip gears and doesn't burnout like it did...one step at time.

Nothing would lead me to believe its running rich from that, O2 is healthy also. What led to you commenting on it earlier about it running rich? Fix the vacuum leak and if the BLMs drop to 120 or something, then that will be a problem. What's your fuel pressure at idle with vac line pulled off the regulator? And then with it on the regulator?

Blm's where a little low, I pulled the plug out and it was like new so I used the tool to set the cam sensor and installed the one wire denso 02 sensor fired it up and notice a difference in the idle smooth and not high but just right with counts good and blms @ 129 not the best, maybe the cam sensor was off, I still need to fix that small exhaust leak and that fpr washer on top I just found a nice gasket washer from sink valves and a stainless steel washer for that...got to love it

I haven't checked the fuel pressure with the tool yet, I was going off the scam master...but now I will check it again to set it at 42-45 without vacuum off, 36 vacuum on right?, 2 months ago I set it but it ran like crap and numbers where off, but it's been a number of things.

oh ok, those numbers are with a brand new O2 not the old one when it was rich? Yes, fp at 42 should be good, 45 is getting a little high. BLMs of 129 is about as perfect as you'll get at any given time, 128 is perfect, but what is perfect 128 today will be different tomorrow. Just realize that the farther you get away from 128, the more inaccurate the O2 is at getting the fuel right….so in other words, being off of 128 by +-4 is ok, but being off by +-8 is not just double of +-4 its way more off. A BLM at 120 at idle would not pass the sniffer test here.
Scan Master is not going to help with the fp setting, will have to have a gauge connected to the rail for that

Sounds good thanks, I have a tester for the fuel, a gauge on the hood and one on the rail. I have a hot wire kit on the a 14.4 volt alternator pump is running great, tps is good @ .42 volt idle, I got 60 lb. Injectors with the chip from turbo tweak system holds pressure overnight, egr valve is eliminated but I kept the egr valve on to keep it from vacuum leaks slowly but surely it's getting better. ..thank you.

Cool, thanks for offering but I have 2 of them...a kenne bell and a kirban, and the fire was caused by the fuel return line behind the alternator.
The clip that holds those lines together with that 10mm bolt and nut wore out a hole and sprayed fuel into the alternator

Your lucky it didn't burn to the ground but yeah i know exactly what clip you are talking about and i didn't like it the first time i seen it...

Yes it sucked, it had half a tank of race fuel when I moved it and my girls where a couple feet away in the pool, I put out the fire twice before I seen the leak and then I put my finger on the hole my wife came out and I asked her... funny thing, to put her finger on this, disconnect the batteries or cap the fuel cap off.

Pictures weeks before the fire.
