Discbrakes

Hi!

Are the stock rear diskbrakes from 1989 gta à direct fit to the TTA ?
I am abort to order à new Strange S60 axle and they ask if the brakes are like stock gm diskbrakes from à 1989 trans am.

I ordered the S60 and did myslelf a favor and got them to install the brake kit.
I think the caliper braket needs to be modified to work otherwise.
I am not positive though.

Have Strange put their billet caliper brackets on the axle flanges that are for 93-97 Firebirds(LT1). The calipers will be almost identical to the original PBRs and much more plentiful at parts stores.

Plus your Emergency brake cables will attach just like the originals.

Here's is my Strange set up

It is not really a kit, but rather you have "Strange engineering" add their billet caliper mounting brackets to the axle flanges as part of an upsell item.
Then you go to any parts store and order calipers and caliper brackets, rotors and pads for a 93-97 F body rear and you will have what you need.

To answer the original question the stock GTA brakes are not the same , only a few special order thirdgens received the 1LE brake package besides the TTA.

Only the front brake set up with proporation valve is different from a normal GTA and TTA/1LE.

The rear disk brake PBR set up are the same between them all.
