Does your wife hate your TTA?

Does anybodys wife also hate your TTA? Everytime mine walks by it she looks like she wants to strangle it!
I dont know what it is about these cars, but I never fussed so much over any other car I owned! Example: I go to put a new belt in, next thing I know I have the alternator out polishing it to mirror finish, then that leads to the valve covers and so on! Maybe I guess thats why she doesnt like it-

ps- This is the one car that everytime I take it out I have gotten some compliment on it-What is about these cars!
 
My ex-girlfriend hated the TTA. She was around for 5 years, and loved my 25th, but 3 months after buying the TTA we broke up. The new girl friend Loves the TTA, and has driven it to shows for me. Plus she wants a 6 speed 02 TA. I guess I have a keeper. LOL!
 
My wife's biggest bitch is the stickers...she doesn't like the stickers either on the 89 or the 81...

Well, that and I did not "consult" her on the aquisition of the 89...yeah...well...that mighta had something to do with it....lol...
 
I usually don't bring the girls around the cars till I know them for awhile. The last one said what's so special about that car and why dont' you drive it everyday. I really miss her! :)

With all that money you're saving on not having a girlfriend you can now spend it on buying more TTA items from me! :clap: :cheers:

Don't really have a wife/gf to worry about but my mom loves it. She even cleans the wheels with q-tips and water at the car shows, it only takes her a good 2 hours or so. I let her drive it once and she didn't like it, that's the only time she's ever ridden in it.
 
Knowing my wife as well as any man can know a woman and applying a little phsycology (sp?) , and wanting to add an 89tta to my 87GN and 68Goat, I sacrificed my time and energy to find and purchase the "car of her dreams". Now there is an 89tta sharing a nice warm, dry spot next to the other two. Make no mistake ,it is my car and I know it is because she loves it and said I could say that.

Mine dosent understand my attraction to either of my cars or my truck.

The TTA wasnt a planned purchase. I was at work chatting to her on MSN and told her she better talk me down from buying the car and sent her a link to the Ebay add. She didnt believe me that I was bidding on it so I upped my max bid....not knowing that it placed another bid in your behalf:o Well you could say I was shocked but not really worried as I figured someone would have pulled a last second bid to buy the car. Two days later and watching the seconds fade to see the Ebay add say CONGTATS YOURE THE WINNER. Thank god for a personal line of credit that wasnt maxed to pay for the car.

She had no sympathy for me when I hit a deer going to meet the transporters with my truck. What she dosent know is that the trucks now gonna get a denali clip added:dance:

Nope! - She likes them better than my 74 T/A.
 
My wife likes them, she comes to the track to help out and video runs sometimes and she helps me clean and detail them before shows. What she does hate is that I have 5 of them and that I'm always looking at them on autotrader and ebay.

I think she's just mad you keep buying them all for yourself and you're not sharing them with her and the rest of us :bash:
 
My wife loves them, I just recently purchased a second one. We currently have a friends TTA stored in my garage along with the others and she is talking me into buying that one also.
 
It's not that she hates any of the cars I own or have owned, she looks on them with apathy in much the same way I look at an antique dresser.We both tolerate the other's interests as long as they don't become overbearing or step out of the discretionary portion of the family finances.
She approaches cars and car shows in much the same way I approach antiques and flea markets [yawn].

She thinks it was just silly that a friend came over just to go look at the car and then thinking it was perfectly normal that her girlfriends came over to see her new antique gentlemens dresser [ BIG yawn].

I purchased her own T/A last year to try and get her to be a little more involved and it has worked to a degree. But I just know that it's not part of her soul to gaze upon a piece of american muscle and appreciate it like I do...
 
My wife has respect for TTA's. Especially since the first summer owned it back in 1998 I had a newer (at that time) mustang cobra try to pick a street race. I womped him so bad he was still licking his wounds three years later when I saw the guy at a car show.

I think the icing on the cake was when the cobra driver asked "what is in that thing?" and my wife (girlfriend at that time) responded "it's just a V-6" before we drove off. It was pretty sweet!

She was disappointed when I had a stock 87 GN for a while on our used car lot. It only had 16,000 miles but bone stock. I let her drive it to work and she jokes around about that car having a beginners turbo. My TTA is not all that modified but evidently enough to make a difference to her.

Alittle bit too much!
She within .3 of my best time.
Her TTA driving priveleges have been suspended for an undisclosed period of time. ;)

My wife loves the TTA's she just hates knowing about the money I put into them. She drove 1397 and liked it before I started makin it a lil faster.
 
im a long way from having a wife but all my friends around here both male and female like it. my future wifes gonna have to like it too!
 
My G/F is so so. likes the car when she gets to drive it and will brag it up and try and set up races for me. But when it comes to cleaning and getting ready to show and cruise, I have to have a dozen roses ready or I'll never hear the end of it:boxed:

x2 !!!! Darn Ebay!!! I bid on mine not expecting to win and........I WON!! Plus wife had to take care of all the financing cause I was travelling for work. But she doesn't like the car mostly because its low. She does drive it occassionally just to scare me.
 
My first girlfriend introduced herself to me only after noticing that I owned the TTA (my first car). She loved it. I even let her drive it once. She almost ran off the road into a wall (too much gas pedal while turning). My only complaint, she would check her makeup 20 times a day and use that visor vanity mirror in an abrupt fashion. She'd just reach up really fast and flip it down suddenly. I told her a thousand times to be careful. I was afraid all the abuse would make it rattle. That visor was one of the few parts that didn't rattle. The car had already 66,000 miles, (and t tops) and had suffered from a mild case of fall-apart. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just pretend you didn't read this last part. I don't want to ruin it for you.
