Door Stickers.....yes No

Ok what everyone's opinion on the door decals? My hardtop does not currently have them. Watching people at shows leads me to believe they are confused.....So do you guys think that door decals help clear the confusion? I prefer the look of no stickers but if will help in teaching people I may change my mind. All ears
 
Not just no but hell no... if you do anything take the handles off and have them painted white.. telling you some good stuff grasshopper...:D
 
I have had them with and without door decals and they don't look that bad when you are standing beside them but they look goofy as hell going down the road.. but all is not lost !! Autozone has a sale on those peel and stick flame's.. i bet they would look good flying down the road !!
 
Looks like the vote is about 50/50. I'm with jarredsoon. Wouldn't leave home without them. As a matter of fact, I plan to put the "500" decal back on the windshield that one of the previous owners removed. I know it was there at some time in the past because I can see a shadow in the windshield tint.

Besides being fast and fun to drive, these cars are a hit at car enthusiast gatherings. The stickers help draw in people to learn about a car that they never knew even existed.

I have an all-stock white 1986 V8 Trans Am too - same condition as my '89 TTA. Same body panels except the front brake scoops. No door stickers of course. People enjoy that car too, but mostly because it reminds them of another 3rd gen Firebird that they once owned in the past.W-side moldings.jpg
 
The rear spoiler on the '86 is original - black unpainted rubber. A little deterioration at the rear corner fasteners, but not bad enough to require replacement. Hoping that it stays that way.
 
I always thought I preferred them without the decals. Now I like them. The third gens just don't get too much attention on the street. The decals help people notice. I'm still surprised at the number of enthusiasts that don't know what they're looking at.

I like the decals because when I first saw a TTA and leaned about it, it was a car that had the decals.
I don't care much for the attention on the street as it is usually some guy in a honda wanting to race lol...
 
fwiw, I prefer the look "without" the door decals, as I feel they are a bit "flashy" and could possibly attract unwanted attention from John Law :rolleyes:
That being said, the car would basically look like "any other TA" without them...
 
They look pretty good to me, maybe you can attach them to a magnet but there is no way in hell i would put them on a H/T ... i think the h/t lines are just too clean to break it up with a decal.
 
I had magnets for the top car I used to have, about a 6" wide strip painted white with the decals affixed, then I could take them off and on...its just a GTA to anyone without them...I ended up leaving them on the car enough I had to polish some blemishes out of the paint, so I removed the magnets and put the decals on for good, and sold the magnets to someone on here. The Phoenix graphics decals are exact match on the doors, the windshield decal is not curved like the original, but nothing a few slits with a knife on the decal can't fix and make it curve with the windshield curvature.
