Driveshaft

Can someone please measure their driveshaft for me. I have a aluminum one from a 89 GTA with a 350. When I bought #364 it was gone. Previous owners scrapped it. Kinda was gonna junk the car...

No one can give me a measurement on a driveshaft? Would Scott know if it was the same driveshaft as a 350 GTA with aluminum one?

I can measure for but I'll have to dig it out, it's in a box wayyyyy back.
I'll try to get it tonight.

I have #818 on the lift now , it has a diffrent rear, driveshaft, when i get #749 back on i will measure it... will be this evening or tomorrow...

I looked into this a while back and it is not the same length. You would have to take it somewhere and have it sized for our cars. Trans cases are different sizes.

I can measure the stock length for you.

With a moser 12 bolt the drive shaft is 1 inch less than stock, what ever that is.

With a Strange Dana S60 the drive shaft length is 42 inches, although on tb.com there was a member who claims the length to be 42 3/4 inches.

By looking at the chart below, I'd say the 200-4R shaft would be around 1" 3/4 longer.

I have in my notes the "stock TTA"!drivshaft is 45.25 inches C-C. The C-C is center to center of the u joints on either end.

I obtained this from my notes, I did not pull out my driveshaft and measure, sorry it's way to deep under a bunch of other stuff.

I believe the 45.25 to be an accurate measurement, although I did not verify.

Hope this helps.

I have my original driveshaft out and it measures 45.50. Bearing cap to bearing cap, as measured from the center of the bearing cap.

So Jarred's numbers are correct too as we are within' 1/4" difference between measurements.
