I'm thinking of switching my car over to e85. I'm going to buy new injectors and a chip anyway, Just thinking performance benefits may be worth it. I dont care about using more fuel. Just wondering what peoples thoughts were
 
Did you post this question on any of the Turbo Buick forums? That would get you a much larger group.
FWIW, I know that a couple of the MAGNA (Mid-Atlantic Grand National Assn) guys have cars or 1st-hand experience with the E85, would suppose that there are others out and about, too...

Need to know what mods and what HP you are trying to achieve. I converted my limited, lots of little issues arose that needed to ironed out.
Fuel pump and Hotwire.
Adjustable FP regulator.
Fuel filter
Rubber hoses on tank.
Need to run E85 additive to prevent gumming.
Cold starts can be a problem.
 
E85 will make more power. Turbo will spool faster. There are down falls as listed above but it was probably a match made in heaven for the GN's. We are different.

You can build the car to due high 10's/11'a after that you will run into some issues with cylinders pressure. Leave the car there and it will last alone time.

But after you build a forged bottom end, heads, cam and bigger turbo. An alky kit tuned to 26-27# will put you where you want to be safely without knock. After that you will run into cylinder pressures issues.

If had a stock unopened motor I would run the E85. You will need a billet compressor wheel matched to a high flow turbine if you want to get the use out of E85 like 30+ psi. On high pressure application the billet wheels support more mass air flow compared to old stuff which was better for low pressure apps.

My problem with E85 is availability... or lack of, there are 5 million people in metro Atlanta and while i'm sure its here somewhere iv'e never personally seen it.
 
I'm basically stock. I have a 3inch DP, 3inch exhaust with no cat or muffler.Not installed yet:
a ported throttle body
and a intake plate.
Soon to get a bigger turbo and Converter
I think I'm going to give it a whirl. I'm waiting for Eric from turbotweek to give me some info on injectors. I will keep you guys updated on my results after the holidays.
 
Yeah, I know what you mean Robert, but 50 miles is just around the block in this spread out town down here!
