Democrat or Republican???

I have always voted conservative. The Republicans are to busy bashing each other right now. It's early yet but it is not looking good for the Republicans.
Obama and Hilliary have had some good debates recently. Lord, what a choice. Obama has good ideas but NO track record. Hilliary, I dunno. I think I will sell all my stocks and go to cash if she gets in. But is she better than the current top 2 Republicans candidates ????
I agree w/ the War kind of. I like the fact that it employs U.S. citizens a provides a few benefits to the Soldiers families involved. I like a few others important things but I will not get into that.
I think we need a Master Economist to run this country. Who??? I have some thoughts but...Who else do you guys like? Ideas? I know this is the all mighty TTA forum but I thought I would spark debate? Joe

Just mt 2 cents...I've always found it fascinating that folks who share the same interests and hobbies in almost a mirror image of personalities, to become virtual enemies to the death when it comes to politics. I have thrown off and been thrown off forums for engaging fellow board members when I discover they have diametrically different view of the world politic than I.
Therefore I refrain from exposing my views as to maintain forum tranquility. And should I slip up and insult someone I appologize in advance.
Besides...I'm right, unless my wife says different....

I can say this, the democrats are setting themselves up for disappointment if they think a black male or white female is going to win it. They can ride the bandwagon for those two all they want, but come election day, no one will vote for them. In front of cameras people might say the color or gender will not affect their vote.

To be honest that's :jason: . No I am not racist or sexist but more of a realist. Everyone here might disagree with me but that's fine. I'll get some satisfaction come election day. :cheers:

I will not say who I like and who I am planning to vote for but I am amused at one aspect of government that just amazes me that it is not obvious to everybody.

During the exit poll of our primary they asked a handfull of questions about why we voted the way we did. One question really bothered me.

What is the most important goal of the next president
1. Reduce Taxes
2. Reduce budget defecit

Why wasn't there a third possible answer? 3. Reduce government spending


Why does nobody in this country seem to think putting a limit on wasteful government spending isn't an option. When I am broke I don't give money back to my employer and I don't try making double payments on my loans, I quit spending so much money. I eat ramon noodles instead of taking my wife out for a steak dinner. I think our government needs to quit giving away so darn much of our hard earned money.

If that is true why didn't Edward just smoke the other two in the primaries? I kindof think that if people are willing to vote for them in the primaries they will also get votes in the general election.

I think Edwards didn't "smoke" the other two cause he comes across as kinda of a wussy. I don't want my leader primping and spending $400 on a haircut! I hope that wasn't tax payers money. Even if he is truly a genius and has all the right answers, you have to market yourself. Speaking of Government spending, why does a $.25 piece soap tray on a air force bomber cost $600 (example) when it comes to the paper trail?

I predicted last summer that Obama and Hillary would be a democratic dream team, they'll catch a ton of black and woman voters who may have previously not come to the polls because they had no hero to get them off their ass. If it comes to those two seriously running on the same ticket, you'll see a shit load of lazy GOPs getting to the polls as well. This years polls should see record numbers IMO.:chat:

If you look at history. Man has always dominated in politics. First, white man only vote. Then white women said, we want in. White man, said no..but said yes to Black Man. So, it was white man, black man, white woman and then black woman. So lets see what happens..I like Ron Paul

Ron Paul is definately for limiting government spending that is for sure. Instead of buying a new $600 soap dish, he'd sell the air force bomber to pay for the new wall going up along the mexican border. I wonder if he'll hire any mexican workers to help build the wall?;-)

I do really like a lot of Ron Pauls ideas but it does not look so good for his campaign now that his is this far into the primaries and hasn't won a state. I don't really think any of our replublican canidates are going to pick Ron Paul as Vice President either.

Doesn't really matter.
You have to be rich to run, rich to win, and a ton more rich after losing the next one.
Rich people don't work.
Check out any of their track records.
They all spend.
And take tons of money that they even hide.
If you think that is bad, just start hanging around your local city, and see what happens there.
It's just as bad.
If they can't run a city right, how could they do a state?
Let alone, the United States.
I agree though, Politics and religion can get people mad at each other real fast.
And there is Politics everywhere.
Work, Police, and even clubs. Yes, even car clubs.

I'm registered independent, conservative leaning though. Not sure what to do this election:WOOT: Seems like both parties have merged and don't really have the best interest of the country in mind any longer! our govt. was started as a government "For The People BY THE PEOPLE!" Now it's more like, "By the government for the government":down: We have become what our fore fathers fought so hard to be free from, taxed to death and indebted to the government:hump:

I often wonder if it's time that the 2 major parties splinter into 4 parties, or that a 3rd party evolve from moderates from both parties. Especially from the Republican party.
