Emblem placement

A fellow TTA owner pointed out that my car was missing a small emblem from the map pocket on the dash in front of the passenger seat. I have the emblem and ask for information on where on the map pocket it should be placed.
Also, how difficult is replacement of the AC compressor on our cars? If I do undertake replacement of the compressor, is this the right time to replace the intercooler duct? Is there a recommended vendor for the replacement duct?

Hear are pics of the map pocket emblem on my car, I got the measurements of 2 and 3/8 inches from top, and 1 and 5/8 inches from right side.

Here's all the info you need map pocket emblem - Turbo Trans Am Forum

For the IC duct only vendor that reproduced it (new tooling however same OEM manufacturer we been told) is carmotorsports.com ... I do beleive you get it slightly cheaper if you look them up on ebay ($249 with free shipping if I remember correct). NEW 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Intercooler Duct Shroud | eBay

For replacing the A/C compressor, not hard at all however takes a bit of time as you have to remove a number of items to get it out.

Intercooler duct you can just replace whenever you like ... you will have to remove and install from underneath. you can leave everything in place and just remove the 10 or so screws/bolts holding the duct to the intercooler then carefully pull it forward and down.

Oh and most of the time if you look carefully on your map pocket you will see at certain angles where the emblem used to be.

Jan, That is what I did. Looked and saw where the old emblem was, because my emblem wasn't there when I got the car.

I had no marks on my map pocket. I had to go by the measurements Jan gave me. Either mine was never there, or it disappeared early in the car's life.
