Factory Radio Question !

Hey guys,

The light on my Radio is always on in my Factory Radio. Is this Normal ?

I’m having problems with the Battery. I’m thinking that is the alarm but just want to be sure that the light on the Radio always stays on. I posted the same question on TB.com.

Thanks.
Alan.

Not normal, if I remember correct (I've swapped the OEM radio with a JVC after market) the light in the radio is only on when the interior light is on (and the dash board light is on) ... the dim switch controls the illumination I believe.

If you have an after market alarm installed I say they did something wrong somewhere installing it.

Heres what happened or what I'm being told happened. I had my car at a shop for them to look at something for me, when they called me to go get the car they told me to bring a battery that my battery was dead. so I did the car started right up and I drove off. when I was storing the car I noticed the time stayed on the radio. (at the time I could not remember if that was normal or not, so I left) A week later I came back to get the car to take it to a show and the battery was dead. The car has a after market alarm (Excalibur alarm) So I am wondering could it be the alarm (because it doesn't sound when you turn it on or off) or is it to do something with the radio? Is there a way to reset the factory radio? Any Help would be great.
