Festival TTA for sale/value ???

I am not selling this car.... Just want to get some numbers from the Pro's. I am looking for the approx value for a friend (and maybe for me if I can get it low enough, hehe!!) Its a Festival car with 60k miles. I looked at the car about a year ago, and passed it up for a 20k mile, cleaner t-top/leather that I sold in October to Gatorlance.
Here is what I remember. The interior was 8 out of 10, a good detail would get it near perfect. Unfortunatly thats the only positive it has going for it. The paint looked like a maaco $300 special, drips, ruins, tape marks, the badges had overspay, 3 out of 10 (hey, at least it was white). The body was decent, but a few bubbles were starting. All seals and rubber were decent, but not mint. Car ran good, turbo spooled up nice, engine bay was clean, missing 20th wires. It was also missing the original exhaust and tips. The undercarrige and frame was showing signs of decay, not roting through bad, but starting to corrode and flake, mostly from the rear axle back. I was wondering if it was driven through a winter or two. No owners box or documentation, the current owner has had it for about 10yrs and is not sure about the history of the car prior to then, the car was a gift to her. I looked behind the rear license plate and no numbers were apparent, the talented painter must of shot right over them. Oh yea, one more positive, the spoiler had been replaced.

Just wanted to get some ideas,:eam: its just hard for me to guess b/c I rarely see festival cars for sale...

It is a T-top/ Cloth Festival car, one more quick note the owner stated it had never been re-painted and the reason it was a poor paint job is b/c they had to get these out on the track very quickly... I though it was BS.

Yep, it is.

Do you know what number the car is?

Without any documentation, confirming it is a festival car is difficult. Indy didn't keep any official records, and the cars seemingly were just hauled off the trucks and numbered...so your PAS build number will not relate to the festival number.

That, and there were several cloth T-top cars ordered by dealers that were not festival cars.

As for a value, yes, I would think there would be some premium, but it's hard to say what it is.

I have PAS car #11 and festival car #55, and the gentleman I got it from last August had to end an eBay auction early after we did the transaction, and I'll guess that the auction was $6-8000 higher that it should have been...but the auction still had a full day to run...so I'm not sure.

Hope that helps.

Jan Larsson had a great writeup on the festival cars by the way:
