Few simple questions about boost.

First off the car has about 50k miles and has a TA49 turbo 3"downpipe, 42# inj. and a red chip? It ran ok with stock turbo at 15# or below. Now with the bigger turbo it doesnt like boost. It has been so long since I messed with it I forgot which way to adjust to turn up boost.
Also how much fuel pressure should I have at idle if my goal is 16 to 18#. I installed a gauge and a scanmaster.
Also is there anyone that can work on these cars around Fort Worth or Dallas, Texas?
Thanks
DG

You want your fuel pressure around 43psi at idle with the vacuum line off. If you're using an adjustable WG rod to adjust boost it's righty tighty to increase boost and the opposite to lower. Same with the fuel pressure requlator or any type of boost controller that I've ever seen. Here's a good guide to go off of while you play around http://www.gnttype.org/maint/quickref.html From the mods that you listed you should be able to see around 16-18psi on pump gas I believe just kind of depends on the car. I would suggest a Turbo Tweak chip though, they're adjustable and well just the most badass chip on the market www.turbotweak.com I have yet to hear anything bad about his chips and I have one in my car and I love it.

As for someone in the area to help tune it I'll be in Houston this weekend but I highly doubt you want to drive that far. If I remember right Jan Larsson just met up with some people in the Dallas area so he might be able to point you in the direction of some help. Or just post up on one of the turbobuick boards and normally someone will volunteer to help out.

As a side note, what all is done to your Vette?

Good info! This should help quit a bit. I havent messed with the car any in a year or so but now I am wanting to get her running and looking good. I drove it from Midland to Fort Worth, where I just moved and at 70 to 75 mph I got almost 25 mpg. Not to shabby I thought.

The Vette is a LS1 strocked to 395" and a ATI D-1 procharger set at about 12.5# boost. It makes around + - 700 rwhp depending on the weather. It is my fix for superspeed and actually scares me a little. That is why I want the TTA going good.
Thanks DG

that's my favorite part of your post :WOOT: I have a really soft spot for LS1s. I've considered selling my TTA for an LS1 several times. I'd like to build a 408 6.0L iron block in a 98 TA Medium Blue Metallic or Blue Green Metallic Trans Am using the truck manifolds running a T76 on about 20psi and alky. Only problem is I'm too attached to the TTA and she's never going away so that project will have to wait for another day.

One more problem. Seems adjustable rod wont hook up when I screw it back in. All I can get is about 10# max boost. It was working last year now it is not. Any ideas?
