Trying to educate myself on oil filter and transmission magnets. Any one use them, and if so, what size. The cost alot, and have different sizes and pounds of force. Ideas?

I've been using one for many years and they do work ... I cut my filter open at every oil change and you see how it trapped very fine particles to the side of the filter where it's been mounted.

Also use a oil drain plug with a magnet on it.

I would have to look and see which size I use on mine, I beleive I got one from the ebay vendors as they were close to half price compared to a normal speed shop selling them.

You can look at the photos I posted in this thread and you can see what it looked like after less than 100 miles on the oil and filter: Oil + Filter Change .. Filter Cutter Recommendation Inside! - Turbo Trans Am Forum

Ok so the filter size is 3.65 inches and you only need choose between the SS-365 or the RA-365 ... I'm using the SS-365 in mine.

anyone ever send their oil off to get analized ? and oil plugs anyone know where to get the factory allen head oil plug from ? The transmission should have a magnet inside of it shouldnt it ?
