Nice pick up Ron. I looked at the G8 GXP but I just couldn't bring myself to spend as much as most of them were going for with a used car. I also couldn't convince myself to even consider the GTs because of the auto. The GXP is a heck of a car all around and would be a great DD.

If most were manuals, which I haven't found to be the case, then that makes my car all that more rare.
Besides, the auto is the same one used in the C6 Vette and I've read nothing but good things about it. And manuals are going the way of the dodo...haven't you heard?

I don't care what the public/manufacture/performance pushes, nothing will replace a manual in my eyes. My next performance car will have a manual, the slight considerations in selling my TTA have been purely because the car is an automatic and not a manual. It's just the feeling of the direct connection with the drive train of the vehicle with a manual transmission. It's sad that I think I may have had more fun driving my 93 Escort Station Wagon and 98 Mazda 626 which were both manuals versus my TTA and TBSS, it's just the ability to have full control.
The autos are getting the quicker times now, but they're more expensive if you want to make some extra power since they build them to handle a little over stock power.

Wish I had gotten the manual too, but I purchased my GXP new and it was a case of get what you get as I was late to the show. Didn't make my decision until Pontiac announced its demise, but by then they had already stopped production in Australia and it was pretty much what was left at dealers. I had to purchase mine in PA as there were no white ones left in NY, heck there were only 3 GXP's left in NY by July of '09. I had to at least have a white bookend to the TTA. I suppose I could have waited and bought a used one but it was a last opportunity to buy a NEW Pontiac. As it is the production brake down was only 210 white with Red/Onyx interior, Auto no sun roof GXP's and less than 100 manuals in that configuration. Only 1,829 produced, so just 279 more than our TTA's. Over on the G8 board they are working on a registry and a numbering system. Not sure how they plan on pulling off the numbering thing, as these cars came down the line with Holdens and GT's.
