First time out "of the Box"

Finally got my car out today. Its been in the shipping container since November 2011. Some observations I'd like to mention; the box was very dry, no moisture. The car was covered, but inside the box it was virtually dust free. I only saw a small drip (eraser size) at the rear of the car-not gonna worry about it.

Anyway, put in the battery-she fired right up. Took about a 10 mile cruise, all guage and scanmaster readings consistent with last year. I only pushed 7 lbs boost, I want to change the oil and do a few other maintenance things. It felt really good to drive her again.

My to do list for this season:

Change oil and filter-#1 priority

Put on new intermediate exhaust pipe, I've had since July 2011.

Install new cold air intake hose I got from NOS 4 gn-highway stars

Install new WS6 center caps

Install new hood struts

and lastly HAVE FUN.

I changed my hood struts a couple of weeks ago too.

I went to O'Reily to get oil for my daily driver and and while I was there asked if they had hood struts for a 82-92 firebird. Hillbilly told me, "man,........you prolly do good to uhh,,......just go to a dealership or a uhh........junk yard or uhhh,,, something like that for something like that........"

didn't even ask his computer, didn't even like make any attempt. So, without complicating the purchase of 6 quarts of oil and a filter, I cut my losses with genius boy and drove to Auto Zone. Guy entered into his computer and they had them in stock. Like $28 I think...

What I'm saying is you can find these at local parts store, but it depends on the help.

The last ones I put on 2 years ago from NAPA, got locally, are already going bad. So I got a set off e-bay.
