I heard Gbody parts is making a cold air kit for the TTA, we shall see how good it is... hopefully it's more than a diffrent bend on the MAF pipe
 
Interesting ... maybe something like the SLP box for the 3rd gens ... hopefully something that is a bolt in and no need to cut / modify anything to make it fit.
 
I have used the 3 inch and 4 inch MAF pipes from RJC racing on my tta's with out a problem. Also his 3 inch up pipes. They all fit. Just letting you guys know.
 
He has 5 or so, 3" stock maf inlet pipes in stock now. These are the short pipe from the turbo only not the whole assembly to the airbox.


I have been assisting with Brian with a 3.5" maf pipe. The prototype is on my car now. There will be a few different versions if I am not mistaken.


Brian is very open-minded, optimistic and trustful. He wants to make sure the 3.5" maf inlet pipe is perfect before they are available to the TTA community.

I knew there was a reason i kept feeding him beer at 2am in a motel parking lot somewhere in ohio a few yrs back...:cheers:

Thanks Jarred, i bought one awhile back that worked fine just couldn't remember where i bought it... now i know

Fyi, the 3.5" maf inlet pipe clears the factory IAC as well as the dreaded alternator bolt. :thumbup:

Thats great Brian stepped up with the new pipes. You guys are lucky he did. You are in a very limited market. Now I would like to see a back to back test on a "ram air" kit.. We played around with different locations on the TTA and Buicks.. K&N in the engine compartment won hands down. ;-)

Just curious, did anybody try cutting a hole where the charcoal canister is , running a pipe through and attaching the air filter under/ in front of the fender?

Most just take the canister out completey... and use a K&N. I remember Grumpy noting his fastest times were from this setup.

I took my road light out back in 1993. Don't know if any pics I posted ever showed it clearly, but it's been gone (stored in a safe place) for years.

I run a flexible hose from the road light opening up to a K& N filter. I figure that supplying cool air to the intake filter is as much as possible is all i could hope for, as I don't believe ramming air into a spinning compressor wheel does anything at all.

Once your at about 20 mph, air from around the car circulates up underneath pushing hot air out from under the hood area.

Hey Joe,

How is the project coming along? Looking forward to hearing about your progress and seeing some pics! Is Brian being receptive?
