found this TTA i want..

ok this is my first post here at these boards. looks like a great place. i usualy post (and am a moderator) at thirdgen.org and i post at gmforums.com..

i have been eying this TTA for quite some time now. its located at a U-hual storage facility where i have storage at. only problem the auto storage area is seperate and has a barbed wire fence around it. (probably gonna hop the fence tonight) the inspection sticker date is 1997 and it looks like it hasn't been driven since then too!! its in pretty bad shape but a car like this doesn't deserve to goto waste. I have always wanted a TTA but never wanted to spend the $15k+ to get one. and i have also always wanted to restore a thirdgen. I love these cars. how much do u think this car would be worth from someone who knows what they have? i know if it wasn't a TTA i would give like maybe $800 - $1000 for it. depending on how good the engine is. but im curious as to what you guys think. and if anyone happens to know maybe whos car this is? im gonna try to get the License and Vin# so maybe i can do a search or carfax or something and find out more.. but i would LOVE to get this car..

It looks in pretty bad shape but at least all the emblems are there and it seems to be fairly straight in the body as well. You would need to take a closer look at it underneath to see if it's rusty and also the engine to see if it's running and not missing any vital parts. Also the interior if it needs attention or not. Anything you have to replace will cost you a fair bit of money as well as anything missing that is TTA specific. If the seats are worn you need to spend money on them etc.

I would say maybe $3000-$5000 would be a fair price unless its missing some vital parts or the engine / transmission is blown.

Also check the rims if they are the original ones or not.

From all i?ve learned through the years is that it will be more expensive to repair a car in bad condition than to buy one in good condition.
But if you like spending your time in the garage and the money, why not?
