so why the gray interior? map pocket too eh?? it almost smells like theft recovery, but i see its clean....very strange....
I know of one TTA that when sold new the owner asked the dealership to swap out the complete interior to grey as he / she did not like the beechwood color ... not sure if it's the same TTA or not.

I asked the seller the question and this is what he responded with, so it must be the same car that Jan is talking about.

It's gray, the original owner changed the interior six months after purchasing the car. Not sure about high back seats.

Just looked in my archive and yes one and the same ... here's what I have from Nov 2002 (besides the pictures dated 2001 and 2002) ...
"The 1989 Turbo T/A #1457
This TTA has 58K original miles and a GREY interior, if you know about these cars they were to have ONLY saddle colored interiors. I have received the PHS(Pontiac Historical Services) packet and confirmed the car was originally built with a saddle leaather interior but the original owner wanted grey and had the interior installed in June 1990.This car is build # 1457
Tis car was repainted and all new weatherstripping was installed in Nov 2000. It is painted 2000 Lexus Diamond White which looks FABULOUS and has just ahint of pearl.
The car has the following mods:
Professionally rebuilt trany with many upgrades - very strong....
Red stripe converter from G.S.C.A.
Ported and Polished heads
Port matched intake
Liquid/AIr intercooler by ATR ( LESS THAN 5 OF THESE MADE FOR TTA's
TE 44 Turbo with .63
Custom chip
SS 3in Dp from Mease Performance
SS Exhaust from flex back
SS MAF pipe
test pipe
ATR air fuel monitor
Caspers KNOCK gage
K&N cone filter
Adjustable fuel reg.
MSD 50#/hr injectors
Adjustable wastegate actuator
Turbo ignition wires
K&N valve cover vent
The Turbo shield and uppipe are chrom plated and the SS maf pipe has been polished and looks chrome!!!!!"

Would have been difficult to get the correct color rear seat backs unless they re-upholstered the originals ... so easier to just install the regular ones
