GN headers vs TTA headers?

what is the difference between them? just the bends and piping or what? how different are they tom each other. could you possibly buy GN headers then get them fabricated to fit the tta?
 
I think we covered this in another thread already; however the GN and TTA heads used are very different so the headers are likewise different.

So the GN headers can't be adopted to fit the TTAs heads.
 
I went 10.50 with factory headers. Money and effort is better spent on other mods like transmission, converter, turbo.
 
And just to mention the GN factory manifolds were very prone to cracking, hence most needed to be replaced or repaired. The TTA manifolds are made from a different material and are stainless to some extent, and are not prone to crack so there is even less need for them to be replaced.
 
I'm talking to a few guys about making stock replacement headers for the TTA. they wouldn't make many maybe 100 or so. Just wondering how many people would be interested in them? I am trying to get them to keep cost under 1200. However I don't own a tat myself so I would need somebody in NJ or Philadelphia are to donate there time away from TTA for clearancing
 
Dont waste your time. TB people are cheap like myself and wont pay 1200 or even 600 for aftermarket headers. Lot of people on this particular board enjoy lightly modded cars. Even if the price was 200 a set...100 sets of headers is way to many. Still a lot of people think these cars are going to make them rich. I like to call those guys suckers.
 
Well I'm trying to get an idea of even if we do less than 100 maybe perhaps 50 if any are interested or maybe even 25. It all depends.
 
I wouldn't bother with bigger sized headers if they even made them, unless I was running a larger cubic inch motor, like 280cu +. I would put money and effort into better heads before farting around with header mods. JMO
 
well... performance headers are one of the first mods anyone does to any car. especially with turbo cars...... guarantee better flowing headers would make a difference. but ya you can do other things like heads before that.

Just remember our headers do flow very well as is compared to a lot of other engines having headers that do restrict flow.

Even PAS when building the shoot out TTA HO never touched the headers and got some very impressive numbers by porting the heads and doing other mods.
 
That may be true, but if we are going through all this trouble at leaf make them stainless steal and have better performance.
 
I bet you would have a prob selling 5 sets .. Never mind 50 !! Leave the stockers on !! They are very reliable. Lot better than the GN headers that we ran 9.9s @ 138 with ;-)
 
yeah true then why upgrade anything unless um trying to go 9.9 lol every little but will add up and help. the mods will work off each other. but i agree you don't necessarily NEED the headers.
