my dad owns a GN and i own a TTA. ive spent a lot of time driving both. (i drove the GN today and will drive it for the rest of the month) in my opinion, the TTA is a lot more fun to drive. it handles better, it feels more like a sportscar, and really i just prefer the way it looks more. it is rarer than the GN too, but its so unknown that most people wont recognize it as being anything special, so dont expect to get compliments every time you stop at the gas station or decide to take it anywhere but a car meet.
When I drive my GN around no one wants to play on the street because they know what it is. I get all kinda people wanting to play in the TTA because they don't have a clue what it is. That is always one nice thing about the 2. I get a lot of thumbs up in the GN and people drive right past the TTA but once I'm in the TTA I love it. It handles nothing like a GN. My GN is like driving a sloppy brick down the road compared to the TTA. Also seems a little more fun to press the gas down in the TTA. I do like owning both. Sometimes I open the garage door and can't pick what car I want to take out sometimes!

oh yeah, you can drive a TTA and GN that are both about the same in acceleration and the TTA will feel a lot faster.

It's a personal preference thing really. The TTA is like driving a Corvette, low slung with the fender peaks at the corners of your eyes, handles really well, easy to maneuver, sporty, flashy, you sit low and feel like part of the machine. But it rides harsher, is a bit noisier and takes a little more effort from you.
The Buick is like sitting in church, smooth and quiet, doesn't handle as well but takes little effort to drive. If you have a T-Type Regal like me it goes totally unnoticed by everyone other than enthusiasts but I'd imagine a GN gets a fair amount of attention.
I think this is why a lot of people own both cars. The Buick is when you want to go fast without alot of fanfare or want to take the family out and the Trans Am is when you feel a bit more aggressive and want to be more involved. The TTA is the "blood and guts car" and the Buick is the "smooth performance car". That's my take on it anyway.

Dad had a GN and a Syclone, I agree that the GN is more like a cumfy couch. The TTA is more like having to be more involved and pay attention. You can't drive into some entrances, it's low, it's hard to get in and out of for old folks. It's noisy, but it's the best when at speed on a winding road on a nice fall day. Also nice is running 20+ psi on nice cool afternnoon.

Last year I was considering selling my TTA and a guy came to see it that was deciding between a GN and a TTA. He loved my car and could not believe how clean it was throughout. I drove us down the street and he was blown away by it.... but this guy was big like 250-300lbs. So for him I think it a no brainer that a GN would be more comfortable for his needs. He was really sqeezed in it. Years ago I considered a GN but just sucked it up and for a few years had 2 child car seats in the back. The TTA is just so much sportier.

I just sold my GN to purchase a TTA and totally regret it. Part of it is because my GN was built up, and my TTA is totally stock. To me I believe performance wise if both cars were built up or stock the TTA wins hands down. However I like the styling of the GN way more. right now for me its all cosmetic issues.
