Good day at the tarck

WS6

Stay thirsty my friends
This car seems to be really coming in to it's own....racked up an 11.3 at 116.2 MPH on a 1.57 60 ft....then backed it up with a couple 11.42s.

Not too shabby for a little 6152e turbo wearing the original cast iron elbow, huffing through the factory intercooler to boot!

78 degree day and sunny

:wheelchair:

You know Kevin's definition of a good race day is when you can drive your car back on the trailer....

Sound's like your a upgrade away from the 10's, what boost you running?

It's a 3" DP away from 10's at minumum and maybe a bigger cam, but I'm happy where I'm at now.

The car is rock solid now, consistent and done on the cheap as far as upgrades. Sure the motor has been opened and forged goodies inside, but forged pistons are no power adder.

My goal has always been to be a reliable 11.5 car and no offense to faster cars (which there are plenty) but seems when you crossover into the 10's the combo becomes high strung and fussy.

Besides the faster you go...the faster you break.

Maybe one day I'll decide to go faster, but for now I'll take a pump gas mid 11 car.

And Robert, that was at 24-25 psi, 21*/19* timing and one alky nozzle.

I've heard that going to a duel nozzle make's them real fussy if you are not running mid to low 10's... and yes pressure will bust a pipe.

I agree with that whole heartily....I know some guys have great success with 2 nozzles....I didn't....it may have been the location I had them too....I just don't know....but my tuning is much easier with 1 nozzle.

The twins looked cool though....

I wish I could consistantly 60' in the 1.5x range. I can't get break that 1.6x barrier off the footbrake...too chicken to use the tbrake.

Congrats!

How long have you had the footbrake without trying it out? What do you think will fail, 1st then 2nd?

You mean "transbrake" right??

I think he's more worried about what's behind the transmission that will fail....hell, I can't believe his 9 bolt hasn't grenaded already.:burnrubber:

Rich, what mods are you running?

6152e turbo, 60#s w/ a 6.1 T.T chip, alky,208/208 flat tappet cam, MAF translator, CAI... the usual stuff...ported intake, etc..

I run an "old school" ATR 2/1/2 DP that looks just like the factory pipe except it's 1/4" bigger but bolts up to the original cast iron elbow

I did go through the motor a couple winters ago and upgraded the internals to forged pieces.
