Greenlight Ttas

The question I have is were the numbers assigned to the greenlights the same as the real ttas. For example my (real car) is hardtop 189. If I ever find the greenlight 189 will it be a hardtop?
 
I just checked the number under my car and it is 328. I also checked the number on the newly released TTA from Greenlight, this car has a gray interior, and the number is 434. Does 328 or 434 relate to an actual TTA that is a hardtop? Hope this helps.

They could have planned it properly however without the documentation we been promised we can't to this day pinpoint exactly which VIN's left the factory with what options (t-top or not / leather or cloth) ...

The first run they did as you remember was the pace car replica with door decals, rear spoiler strobe lights, strobe light yellow button etc.

Then one of their distributors had them do 360 pieces of a hard top version

Then Greenlight released the "standard" t-top version

And now very recently Greenlight released the hard top version (with the wrong colors etc)

So would not been easy to do just a single run with 1550 cars all numbered per what actually left the factory ... then if someone wanted extras or a t-top and a hardtop would have made it difficult for all of us to get hold of a couple each or more ...

And the 1:64 scale TTA they still have not released a hardtop version .... hope they do one of these days.
 
Guess I'll just keep my greenlight hardtop. Number 087. Guess it's close to 189 lol. Glad to see you back on the forum Jan. Thought u were kidnapped
 
There's a lot of things that Greenlight could have done better. I worked with them during the development of the TTA model, and trust me it's 100x better than what it would have been. Unfortunately, they're a low cost medium volume model producer working with a Chinese manufacturer. So there were a lot of things that came down to the time for revisions, the manufacturer not following directions correctly, tool and die and material costs, and then they were also in the process of expanding their business at the time. If it would have been someone like Replicarz or something similar with a $300 price point we could have corrected some of the minor faults on the final production model. However, with it all said and done, for a car built for a small audience I think they did a great job.

In case you're wondering some of the issues they had when I started working with them (this was after several revisions already):
Dash color was wayyy off
Door panels were all light tan
Wheels the wrong color (shiny gold)
Some wrong colors under the hood
Looked like a 4x4
I think we adjusted the overall dimensions some
