Hardtop finally arrived!

The TTA hardtop I purchased from Fairfield finally arrived!...I think it's the only hardtop in Europe!...
Unfortunately the previous owner treated the car as I wouldn't even treat my daily driver! It has leftover evidence of alky injection and an inline pump. Plus the idiot glued a radar detector to the bottom portion of the dash! If that weren't enough, I noticed duct tape around the oil pressure sensor plug...guess that explains my pressure off the scale.
His welding skills were pretty awesome too...the crossover pipe consists of four badly welded pipes! It's going to take me several weeks to get the car into the shape it should be. Here's one pic that didn't make me jump for joy when I picked it up.

Glad it arrived! Sorry to hear it isn't perfect, but if you wanted perfect you can always buy a new car!

Sounds to me like the car will be easily fixable with some time.

The fuel line is still available from GM as I had to buy one for my car. I bought a new fuel line, removed the external pump, and bought a Walbro 340 and hotwire kit from Racetronix.

The crossover pipe is fixable, but if it doesn't leak, I'd leave it alone until you have to take it off. It would bug me too, but might as well leave it for now...

If the hatch looks like that I would TRIPLE check to make sure the rest of the carpet isn't wet. I wouldn't be surprised if the water is coming in where the spoiler connects. Check the underside of the hatch and pop off those access panels to check. Don't want to leave rust residue on the paint..

BTW, where did the car come from?

That sure is a cool sunroof you have in your luggage area. the view of the muffler must be spectacular.

Congrats on the car, sounds like a few minor items and you'll be good to go.

damn the one i saw in PA didnt look that bad
Well, this is the one...but I think I'll be ok. Please don't get me wrong, I really did appreciate your assessment. It kept me from being totally shocked. I was able to expect the things you mentioned, which were on key. I just found more once I had a couple hours to start picking into it.... including my aquarium in the trunk.

They are all a project that's for sure! You have an extra special one! A hardtop is always going to be more unique! Your in the best place for parts and answers while you go along so have no fear! You'll have it all back to new in no time!

The trunk was def not like that before, something must have happened in transport or something, I def remember looking in there, oh well you got the car and thats the important thing, i mean theres only what 39 of them

Definitely the only hardtop in Europe ... unless someone been hiding one all these years :-)

Congrats and look forward seeing it in the flesh at some point !

Hmm, I thought there was only like 24 or 25?

Either way, very cool to have the only one in Europe! :toot:
