Headliner and A Pillar Clips

I am starting doing some work on my headliner, at least starting too.

I pulled the front section loose and notice that one of the tabs is bad on one of the clips that holds the front right side of the headliner.
Where might I find another one of the clips?

Also after pulling the A Pillar black plastic covers loose, I noticed I might as well get new clips also. It looks like the clips for this is the same as the one for the door panels. Does anyone know for sure?
 
Keep us posted on your progress and how its going. I want to do mine too, but have never recovered a headliner, so any tips you could provide would be much appreciated.:)
 
Mike - before you get it, do some research. They don't fit as well as original. They don't have the clips that hold up the front by the windshield and they sag in the middle. If your headliner board is not in bad shape, strengthen it with some fiberglass and resin, and have a good interior shop recover it.
 
I must be bored I am taking it apart and inspecting it already!!!!!!

I will have to get another car when I run out of things to do on this one.ttarider

If you take your time, and don't cut holes or trim anything before, to centre it and do a "dry" install to make sure it's centred properly and sits correct left - right and front - back and THEN cut holes for interior light, seat belts and sun visors it's not too bad. What I found is that they are just a bit too short in the back so if you get the ABS board and upholster it yourself then make sure to add about 1 inch of material at the back then fold it so not to stretch and fold the material along the back edge of the board.

I've seen people say they sag upfront in the middle (so above the rear view mirror) but have no problem with mine doing that ... if that is the case just remove the clip and small bracket from your OEM headliner and glue that one in place on the ABS one and you are good to go.

They (a-pillar one) are slightly different and lower profile as well as larger "head" but might work ... I'll see if I can find a place where you can get some ...

Thats really what I had in mind was glueing the bracket with gorilla glue and that way I could use the clips with the ABS board.

It looks like I am not going to be able to use the old orig board anyway. It looks pretty brittle.
 
We should start a list sharing fasteners or we will all end up with boxes of 50 or 25 and only use 2 or 3 from each box ... I got loads of them on the shelf as you can imagine ...

Any thoughts?

I agree, I just ordered way more than I need. The same with the radiator bolts, I will replace with all new ones and have plenty left.:thumbup:

Mike, did you get the clips you need for the a-pillar ... I got some nice used ones if you still need some ... just found them in one of my many boxes lol.
