Whats Happening Fellas? I just picked this gem up last week locally in Alaska(Only 1 in state i believe). It is #178 supposedly. It came w a 4.1L w/forged internals, Everything ported and polished, Turbonetics turbo, 3" dp, 65# injectors, walbro 340 pump, extender chip, maf translator (Lt1 maf), Sphon suspension and sub frame conn., and a bunch of spare parts to include the stock motor(blown headgasket) 2 carriers for the diff and a bunch of misc stuff. It is tuned to run on 90oct at 12psi(highest we have at pump up here). The dyno sheet said 339 and 405. I've been using the search function on this forum daily and figured it was time to introduce myself. Thanks for all the advice and info in advance, Jason.IMG_0574[1].JPG

Very nice...Bet it's a beast. There are easy ways around your fuel situation.

Congrats
would you care to expand on the easy ways? I have been running a little turbo b16 Honda up here for the last few years @14 psi on 90 w Torco to bring it to 93. but hit a wall at 14psi and cant tune out knock past it. Its tuned on crome pro. its a fun little heart breaker to drive (297@wheel,11.97 @117) to drive on the street, but I'm ready to sell it off and get this TTA running strong. Also I am very new to tuning a car w out OBD1/2. The previous owner stated that the car was using Turbo Tune and the extender chip for tuning? Again, Thanks in advance, Jason

Joe is right.. you have a very healthy engine combo and it sounds like room to grow...get your feet wet first and then have fun.... after all this is THE ONLY THING that separates the TTA from other 3th gens ... performance...:)

I've been pondering the idea of meth. First I'm installing a Fuel pressure, boost and AFR gauge. How hard is it to tune for meth? Also I've been reading about the translator plus that it has and i must say im a bit con-fuddled on how it all works.

I purchased a TTA kit from Julio at Alkycontrol about two years ago. Call him, he is great to talk to and he really knows his stuff.

Imo Alky is the easiest to install/ tune and best bang for the buck.. you are 100% correct in installing a FP, boost gauge FIRST lol, a SMaster is a must and a Powerlogger is checkmate if you like going really fast w/o worrying about grenading the eng.

Turbo tune?.... yes you have a lot to learn with the extender chip and i'm not making a case for or against it but Eric's chip is simple to use and understand and has done find for me so far... i would also invest in a good fire extinguisher and keep it IN the car, if you store it in the rear hatch i don't think it will open with the car running.

"Turbo tune" Yeah lol. The previous owner said that nonsense. I have 2 racing fire extinguishers that i use, defiantly a good idea. I haven't needed one yet "knock on wood" but will always have one. I have a couple questions after a few days of reading and searching. I'm trying to figure out what I have to work w already, so i don't waste any $$. If this is the wrong place to post these questions please move.

The car has a Maf translator plus and the extender chip. Also it has an ALDL to usb connector.
So what software do i need to use to cable w a pc as a scantool?

The plan is to buy the alkycontrol kit from julio(recommended everywhere) and get a new alcohol chip from turbo tweak(Eric?) and to use the Maf translator and PC as a scan tool to dial it in. I've read that his chips are pretty darn close and not much adjustment should be needed.

Are there any disadvantages to this vs A powerlogger w AFR hooked to it? Thanks, Jason

Welcome,
Interesting post. Would be nice if you shared the turbo specs or whole combo. Wouldn't you know it? I have a 4.1 from an '82 cadillac sitting in the barn.
