Hello I'm new to the forum so I thought I would introduce myself and my TTA. I am the new 2nd owner of 59k mile Southern California car that had been in storage for some time. I bought it in February down in Irvine. Made a great road trip driving it up north while visiting friends along the way.

I also own a 1967 326 convertible and I've previously owned 1983 Daytona pace car. I definitely like our pace car more though [emoji6] .

I have done some work on getting the "dust" off this bird over the last 6 months. Re did the entire suspension and motor/tranny mounts... Not cheap. Replaced the popup light motors, power steering pump, and the starter. The next priorities in no particular order is AC, weather stripping, loose driveshaft, and top end tune of the engine. Eventually a new paint job would be nice too.

I look forward to learning more about our car and turbos. I feel fortunate to own such a rare and fun bird.

welcome. it looks like the front and rear only wheels are on the wrong ends of your tta. this happens a lot.

Interesting... They're the exact same the front (pic 1) and back (pic 2). Are they supposed to be different tires?

I don't answer many questions on here because a lot of these guys have way more knowledge than me about these cars. I purchased mine a couple of years ago and am just now beginning to do some repairs, but wheel question I know. The wheel size is the same, but the rears have a 16mm offset. The backs are marked "rear" on the inside of the rim. Having the rear wheels on the front will allow rubbing when turning sharp.

Nice looking car. The rims are all marked FRONT or REAR on the back side, as the fronts have a wider offset to prevent rubbing when turning. You can see the outside lip is wider on the FRONT rims because the gold center section is recessed about 1/4 inch more than on REAR. I found this out after I bought my second TTA #754 and heard it rub when I made a tight turn. I found it had three REAR wheels and only one FRONT! I thought I would just pick up another front, but it turns out they are rare because some owners like to put FRONT wheels on all four so they can then rotate them front-to-rear without worrying about rubbing. I still haven't purchased another FRONT rim, so if anyone has one I would consider buying it, although I am going to sell the car so may just leave it for the buyer to deal with. I have considered just adding a spacer to the one wheel to push it out a little and have had various comments on the wisdom of doing that.

Wow I didn't know this was a thing with the TTA. I am going to have to get it in the air to see what 4 wheels I do have.

Welcome to the world of TTA owners, car looks great so congrats on your purchase!!

Did you look up the VIN sequence number ? If you need help just list the last digits of your VIN

Make sure you add your car to the registry on here if you have not yet done so.

Great bunch of knowledgeable and helpful people on the forum so anything we can do to help let us know; you also find a wealth of information on this site if you do a search.

Wow I didn't know this was a thing with the TTA.

It's a thing with all Pontiac F-bodies with the PW7 wheel. The good news about that for folks like Charlie is they were quite a few Firebirds made with PW7s. If these were a TTA only wheel, he'd be looking long and hard for one wheel.
