I was bored, so I thought I'd get this all written down. I haven't checked the registry yet, but thought there may be a few here interested in this kind of information, or even buying one of them! :D

Hey ya that would make sense hey, I didn't even look at that.

What do you guys think a tta with 1k miles would be worth, all original of course??

If it was a t-top leather = $35,000
If it was a t-top cloth = $45,000
If it was a hard top leather = $40,000
If it was Hard top/cloth = $50,000
If it was one of the converts, which I don't know the miles of those + $70,000

I think # 2 needs to do some 'splainin ( pop culture reference) those lug nut covers are waaaayyy too faded for 6K miles and where are the original Gatorbacks?

I still have the origianl gatorbacks and mine's got 30K.

Good call, didn't notice. On second look it also has a K&N filter. If you want big money it better look like a an old lady bought it take her baked goods to a church meeting. No mods visible. I can't believe you still have your gatorbacks at 30k! Take em' off, store em' and run something new.

I have 3 of the original Gatorbacks and I suspect it's because I bought the car with M/T drag meats on the back. So it shared those miles with them. They are about 7/32 left. I did take them off when I refinished the wheels and put a set of Coopers Zeon 2XS on it.
I worked at Good year tire store back in the mid 80's and all though Gatorbacks were state of the art then, tires have come along way and it didn't make sense to hunt down a 4th one just for originality, when tires are so much better now.

Mine had original gatorbacks on it and one blew out at 2K miles. The others were dry rotted and were thrown away at that time.

Running original gatorbacks on the car is absolutely nuts and an accident waiting to happen. They are way too hard and are unpredictable. Better to just have them off the car and new rubber put on to be safe.

I agree that Gatorbacks are an extremely hard compound, but a good tread design. My 3 aren't dry rotted...yet. But chance favors the prepared and that was one of the reasons I bought new tires rather than search for a 4th tire.

My IROC Z-28 buddy, who's car is an '89 with 38K miles still has it's original Gatorbacks too. His aren't dry rotted or weather checked yet either. He loves them for the handling....but he drives a backhoe for a living, soooo...

You guys ever race? That's a good line up... IROC-Z vs. Trans Am.
I did on the street in the summer of 90, a blue Iroc, a movie let out, I got in traffic with a new Iroc. Fun times.

On the street... constantly...but we race everything each of us has from the 4WD trucks to the minivans to the convertible T/A.

He hasn't raced the TTA yet, but he rode in it on one of the short trips I took it on before bad weather set in and he verbally admitted defeat. Doesn't mean he won't try though...every time.

His IROC is super clean, bought for around $5200 because of a perpetual SES light problem the original owner couldn't fix.It would fall on it's face in closed loop, mild acceleration. I dicked around with it for a couple weekends before I bought a remanned ECM and fixed the problem.

Whats the going rate for a 9,783 mile t-top leather car?
