Hot start problem

I just picked up a TTA. All is good except it does not want to start when hot. When I turn the key to start it nothing happens. The light on the dash says security and the water temp gauge moves to hot. The PO says he thinks it's the Neutral safety switch, what do you guys think. By the way he says if you leave it for a few minutes it will start, I haven't tried that yet because I am able to start it with a jumper wire from the battery to the starter wire.

Dont know if you fixed the problem yet, but it sounds like the same problem I had... wouldn't start when hot. The problem is that the stock ignition lead to the starter solenoid is a resistance wire. When it's hot the resistance increases and you just dont get enough juice to the relay to engage the starter. The fix is to go and get a Ford style remote starter relay and mount it up around the battery somewhere. Take the ignition lead from the solenoid and connect it to the ignition switch lug on the new relay. Then run a wire from a 12 volt source with 10 or 12 gauge wire through the relay to the starter solenoid. Car will start hot no probems.

I was able to do mine without cutting any stock wires. Just pull the solenoid lead back through the conduit to the front of the engine, and then up to the new relay. Just be sure its secured away from the turbo. I also took my 12 volt source from the battery cable post on the starter and routed it up to the relay and back down to the solenoid through the existing conduit.
