How many miles a year?

I think the adverage is 500 or so a year. You really should drive these cars even if it's just an investment. I talked with Terry Shaw and he told me about a low mile TTA that was pretty much a mess becasue the owner did not drive it at all. So everything was messed up on it. If you put anywhere under 500 miles a year on it that is enough to keep it fresh and lubed. I got mine in February and I put about 500 on it already but only because I've been busy showing everyone the car. I think the first year you own a car is the most miles you'll put on it. But it's a car and meant to be driven! So don't be scared! :D

I put about 1000 miles on mine. I love to drive it. I found a guy who never drove his much and one day he had a fire and all was gone, so i rather enjoy her. I even go as far as the keys TTops down and everyone goes crazy. My wife wants me to go to orlando on it, I think I just might, plus it gives me chance to play my FAVORITE SONG CAN'T DRIVE 55!!!

I agree - these cars are meant to be driven - not just sitting.

Now with that said, I have had my car since May and have put less than 150 miles on her! I try to drive it on weekends - but seems like the weather dictates if I should take it out along with other things (ie, work!).

When talking to my insurance agent, he suggested that I put the 3000 mile/year limit on it, especially the first year, since that will be the most used year - but I just don't see me doing that - so I stuck with the 1000 mile/limit. So far it seems like that is working for me.

Hey Jim - did you get the build sheets, and other papers you needed? Tried to PM you, but not sure if they made through. Still happy to get you the copies or whatever you need.

Well, just turned 60k on mine the other day. I bought it almost 10yrs ago with 43k so some quick math says I've averaged about 1700 miles/year.

With that said, I probably drove it LESS when I first got it. There were a few reasons for this, not the least being that I had to store it about 5 miles away in a separate garage. After I had my own garage to park it in this wasn't a problem anymore. I did enjoy driving it more once I replaced the HORRIBLE Gatorback tires (ride quality sucked). I've driven the car a couple of times to the TA Nats (about 5 hours from Chicago). Not the most comfortable car for a long trip when you're over 6' but I've managed.
