How much boost do you run?

A spinoff from sverble's post on tb.com how much do you guys run?

Right now mine is set to 25-26 and will stay that way until it blows. No knock, runs awesome, and I can definately tell a seat of the pants different between 20 and 25.

I read sverble's post earlier too. Good debate. I asked Ross about it and he said he runs 26# on the streets w/ no problem on the stock block. Hmmm.

Haha I think the stock block thing is :jason: . The block is very strong. I wouldnt even worry about that. The headgaskets, bearings, and pistons (from high EGT's) would worry me WAYYYYYY before the block strength.

Perfect example-Dick Kereny, Jason Cramer, Jason White---went all year in TSM running 30+PSI without "cracking a block"...in fact they went all year without blowing. Kereny bent a pushrod I do believe on the last pass of the year in the finals. Pretty impressive. This is the same block that went 8.9x

The thought of going back to 20 psi make me puke a little bit. Since I have inside control over the boost and it's no problem to turn it down, I'm going to run 23psi on the street and 25psi at the strip. But if a stang rolls up on me I'll turn the knob to 25psi..maybe 26:devil: . Oh yeah and the dump pipe switch. I got more switches than Snoop Dog.

I run 18-19psi on the street and track with 93 octane and 25-27psi at the track with 116 octane when I want to kick it up a bit. But for the most part I'm content with low 11's at 118-119mph in street/pumpgas tune.

I dont worry much about the stock block, head gaskets, or pistons - for me the crank, rods, and bearings are what I worry about while wathcing the tach climb :) Eventually I'll get the eagle crank and rods out of the closet and into this motor.
