I found gold in my back yard!!!

Gee guys,
Since moving out here to Northern Arizona, I have seen gold mines, and read about over 2,000 still around the area, just sitting there!
Now, I've been here almost 4 years now, and always out in my back yard.
Today, of all days, I go out in my back yard, and see gold sitting right out in the open!
I took some pictures of the big beautiful piece too!
I put a piece of my gold that I brought out from California to show it against the new piece. My piece is on the right.

It was great to meet up with Steve, who got a personal vist of the offical George W. Scala Trans Am Museum.
Next time, I hope there will be no wind, no sand storm, and no rain.
At least, it started just as he drove off!

Only a few people have visited me in Kingman, like Jan, from England/Sweden, and a few others from other websites.
But others have when I lived out in the Los Angeles area. Like Ron K, Chris K., and yes, Jan again, and even Dave G.
You guys are all welcome to, if you are ever out this way.
I am just a hundred miles south of Las Vegas, just 32 miles from Laughlin.

George, thanks so much for your hospitality, I had a great time and you have a really nice collection - I only wish I had more time. Good thing I went to I40, missed just about all of the rain :) I'll have to make another trip with time to hang out, and if you ever want to come out my way you'll always have a place to stay :)

Jan, yup it's a leather/hardtop #1461. It had 58K when I picked it up in California, should have a little over 60K by the time I get home. Funny you should mention the convertible, George said the same thing - he even offered to keep it and take care of it at his house in Arizona seeing as I'm out of room in New York :D

Jim I'll definatly have it out when I get back, just gotta detail it - it's getting a little dirty :) Cars running great though, no complaints.

I did get to see a few sites along the way detouring onto RT66

How was that museum?
We got hit with the rain pretty good.
Lasted for about an hour and a half at my house.
When we turned on the weather channel, it showed Route 40 clear of rain.
You'll also have to post pictures of your trip up too.
We were both glad you showed up, and had fun.
You are more than welcome anytime! You can even bring your wife next time, and we can hang out in Laughlin for some good eats, and gambling.
I take it you loved the video?
Jan wants it too! ;)

Looks like you found a really nice car. We;re definatley going to need some pictures of the collection.

Joplin is a pretty nice town, I was born there and I travel through the area about 2-3 times a year.
 
Damn!! I live just 45 miles south of Joplin. Shoulda let me know and I woulda driven up there. I would have loved to see a hardtop leather car. That would be the perfect combo for me!

How far is the drive back home?
 
The museum was cool, some other stuff around there too. I didnt take alot of pics but I'll post some up when I get home.

The car is pretty clean, it's got typical issues like a small crack in the spoiler and some wear on the drivers seat - what I expect for a 60K mile car. When I get home and clean it up I'll have a bunch more pics, and I'll try to get a group shot, or at least the two hardtops, but it's hard to do in Brooklyn with no room.

I'm planning on leaving Joplin early, before sunrise. I think it's about another 1200 miles for me so I gotta get some rest :)
 
Damn your a lucky guy.. Awsome collection! Your gonna need a LONG trailer to bring them all to the meet. If and when one happens.....

One reason I moved out here.
Before I get any other cars, I have to add onto my garage.
Maybe next summer.....................

Thanks Dave, funny thing is our car numbers and our vin numbers are both 5 apart, so cars 1456 to 1461 have sequential vins :)

I may have said that wrong but what I ment was that the vin numbers and car numbers are all 1 number apart, for example cars 1456-1461 have vins 459-464. That is not the case with all of them, take 850 and 884 for example, 34 TTA's apart but 478 cars apart(vins 129 and 607)

Is there a reason for that or just one of them things that make ya go :eam:
 
When cars are being made, they tend to be done in batches of the same color, not engines.
And, since all 20th Turbo Trans Ams were white............................. ;)
