I got my TTA

Congrats, looks like a nice example :-)

Do you know hte build number of yours? If not if you give me your last 6 numbers of the VIN I can see if I got it.

Enjoy your new ride!!

Thanks guys! The # is 1441. I have the list of all the VIN's. Is that the only way to find the car #? I also got the owners kit and all paperwork since new. I'm very happy so far, but too busy for the next couple of days to really get into it. I'll post more pics. soon!

Hi!
The ultimate is to get the letter from PHS, that is, if they still do it.
You may have to call them to find out.
It costs you money, but it is the final word.
See here:
Web Site link to get your build number from Pontiac Historic - Turbo Trans Am Forum
Maybe you can call and get the information.

Great to hear you got lots with your car.
Now you need to check everything you have, with all that's out there:
Show off your memorabilia/NOS parts/other goodies you have for the TTA - Turbo Trans Am Forum
Alot of people have since added to their collections.
But it does give you an idea.

Enjoy the chase,

1441 should be accurate, 3 cars in front of you (all sequential VINs) been confirmed by PHS ... but as George pointed out PHS (Pontiac Historic Services) would give you the build number in writing.

I started going through some of the paperwork and along with the window sticker there is a buildsheet and the original purchase receipt. Cleaned the car up today and it sure is purdy:yes:

Cool, could you take a good picture of the buildsheet and share with the rest of us please :-)

Looked at a few and ended up with a 27K two owner car. Here's a couple of shots!

Congrats "Kid". I remember looking at the new TTA's in the showroom when I was a kid in my early 20's. Unfortunatley I wasn't able to get one until last year and I am now in the grumpy middle aged man category. Enjoy your ride and get prepared to answer those questions people ask like why you took out a small block and put in a V6.

I looked at them too when they were in the showroom! Didn't testdrive one because I knew that I couldn't get one, but now I have one. I will take a pic. of the buildsheet and post it. May take a couple of days. Here's the press kit and some extras that I got with the car. I didn't know the sheet was there until last night. I also cleaned the car up a bit ad took some more pics.!

Very nice ride, looks like you scored a great deal. The PHS information is nice to have, I just received mine a couple weeks ago, its $35 for all the info, for the TTA's. You can get a copy of the original window sticker also, but thats extra. Is you TTA all stock?

I will get the PHS docs. when I get a chance. The car has a chip, larger turbo, turbo adjust, exhaust knock sensor K&N. Still wearing the original tires. I found time slips in the paperwork. Went 12.50's.

Great car ... I looked at it a few days before you bought it and didn't pull the trigger. Mike was a real nice guy ... really a one owner car not two ... it was Mike's father's and then Mike's. I count that as "one owner."

The chip that's in it is from a reputable company in Chi-town that did GNX's too.

I'm still on the hunt ... maybe this week in Illinois there's two avail with 20k miles on them.

I'd love to get together and run them around ... I'm in Canton ... pastor a church in Wayne. I drive a '70 GTO Convertible 4spd 455 with Ram Air all over the place. Where are you from?

We have a huge Family Fest Sept 12th ... free food, rides for kids, live Music, and we're anticipating over 150 cars! So bring yours out!

I looked at the car two weeks before I actually bought it. I looked at a few more cars and made 3 offers before Mike finally sold it to me. I agree with you about it being a one owner car, but tech. it is a two owner car. I've been into Mopars for longer than I can remember and it was just time to change it up a bit. I have a 69 Super Bee sitting along side the TTA. Here's my website: www.sixpacksuperbee.homestead.com
I'm really enjoying doing something different. It'll be all over Woodward in the upcoming weeks.

Very nice website! I'll have my GTO all over Woodward but if I get one of these two TTA's I'm looking at I'll do that instead. I'll be cruising hard on Thursday and Friday nights as well.

Please bring one of your cars to our Family Fest in September .. bring wife and kids .. all free games, rides, music, prizes, yada yada yada

I know of a couple that are still available. Both located in Shelby Township. Low twenties. I may be able to make it to the family thing, but I need to wait untill it's closer to know for sure?

That's a heck of a GN collection! Mine were in boxes for years. It's nice to have finally gotton them out to enjoy a bit. I like a little variaty. As I aquire new ones nw I'm getting rid of some.
KID

The ones in Shelby - if I'm not mistaken - are 20+k mile cars asking in the low 20's for price? I'm down to 15,500 for a 19k mile car that has only a couple of very minor issues.

Some minor surface rust underneath (enough though that there is a pencil size hole in the muffler going out to the back), orig wires, some extra connectors (NOS) - orig tires (16k miles on them) with new tires on car - everything works - has mint sunshades for t-tops.

If all works out I'll go out when I get back and get it. If Shelby Townshipw would come down a bit on price I'd rather go local of course.

For reference ... does anyone know what were the original tires on the car?

Kid,
Mine is all the Trans Ams on display in that tread.
Not the GNs.

As for tires, Goodyear Gaterbacks 245/50/ZR16s.
