Thanks for having me on the forum.
Just to give you guys some background, I've been working in the automotive retail field for over 20 years. I currently help manage a Ford franchise in the Philadelphia area.
I got started in the business in 1986 at a Buick franchise and witnessed my fair share of Grand Nationals, Turbo T-Types and a couple of GNX's in that time. In late 1987, I moved to a Pontiac franchise, that unfortunately, no longer exists. It was a pretty good period for Pontiac in those days.
It was during my time there that the dealership was scheduled to receive two 1989 20th Anniv TurboTrans Ams. We were very anxious because the vehicles were late for delivery from the factory for various commodity issues, and as you can imagine, the interest in the vehicle was huge.
We finally received the first 20th TTA, but because of the delays, the car arrived from the factory without the Indy Pace Car decal and without the Turbo cloisonne on the sides of the car.
The cloisonne were mailed at a later date and I came to get own of these sets, that I recently discovered in my basement.
I'm trying to gauge if there might be any interest in this type of item. I'm not sure if you guys have ever seen them packaged? The set was mailed from PAS, and it contains the TURBO emblems, a template to mount the emblems, a separate page of directions, and a check to the dealer for technician time to mount the emblem. It's kind of a novelty for the 20th Anniv collector.
I'd appreciate any comments. I guess I could always Ebay them, but I wanted to get some insight from some knowledgeable people first.
Thanks in advance
