Ignition switch will not shut off

My ignition switch has been a bit balky in the past, but now will not shut off, requiring the fuel pump fuse to be pulled then the battery disconnected. Has anyone had ign switch problems, and if so, any good tips? thanks

Mine did the same thing a while back...had to replace the ignition switch cylinder. Take your old key to the dealer when you go to get the new ignition. They have to test your key to find out what VATS code it is,..then get a blank key coded the same and cut it to match the new key with the ignition. The car will not start with the wrong VATS coded key.
