Hi guys ... thanks for all your help and advice.

I am the proud owner of #831 or 832 .... I'll let PHS decide!

All original ... and really really drove awesome ... 9,200 miles.

I'm stoked ... can't wait to have it shipped up north.

Now, after driving 8 hours round trip and buying the car I've got to take my family to dinner in St. Petersburg and then haul 18 hours back to Michigan ... ugh ...

I really wanted the car in Washington Ill but the owner stopped contacting me. Oh well ... this one is the real deal.

Congratulations  What combination is it? T-top/Leather,Cloth? Post some pictures when you can!!!!!

Hey congrats, you wont be disappointed !

When / if you get the build number confirmed buy PHS let me know ...

Thanks guys ... just got back in from Tampa. I drove 4 hours each way to Ft. Lauderdale to look at it ... 85 mph no issues.

Took 1/2 hour break ... informed you what happened ... and headed back. Didn't go 5 miles and tranny of the Tahoe was slipping real bad. After 20 miles we couldn't go any longer. It was 10 p.m. stuck in nowhere's-ville Florida. We finally got car towed to a Chevy Dealer (thank God I've got an extended warranty 100K and the car has 93K!) ... got a cab ($100) to drive my family BACK to Tampa airport ... rented a car one way to Detroit (a $1,240 tab that the lady was gracious and gave to me for $426) ... and just got home. Now I've two cars to get transported by carrier back to Detroit ... a TTA and an '04 Tahoe! Ugh ....

Oh yeah the car is a standard garden variety t-top leather car. Everything seems to be bone stock (as far as I can tell but I'm no expert) and everything seems to be working (as far as I can tell but I'm no expert! lol)

The car drove quick ... real quick ... quite ... smooth ... not a rattle at all. I do have some questions about how normal idle should look on the needle etc etc but I'll save them for when the car is here. I'll be sure to get pics coming off the carrier and post them.

I've also got about 20 slides - original - of the car with the original owner! I'm the third owner. I've got to figure out how to get those slide onto digitized format. Who does that??

I'll also send to PHS on Monday. How do I get expedited service?

Thanks again guys. There were at least 2 or 3 other cars I was interested in - 2 of them right here in Michigan - but when I saw this one and drove it I had to have it.

Oh well .... now what to do with the Goat??? :)

Congrats!

Sucks to hear about the Tahoe, did you check into getting some reimbursement from GM on your warranty for the extra expenses?

As for the slides, try going to your local library they should have something to scan them in or they could probably atleast point you somewhere to go.

For PHS, just give them a call. They have one their website that you can fax in the order information and then they'll fax back the car info and send originals in the mail. You might want to go that route if you're impatient :WOOT:

The GTO, you should either keep it or give it to me. It looks like a really nice car from your sig.

Thanks for the advice Bird! I'll try the local library once all the paperwork is delivered with the car ... I'll start making arrangements tomorrow to pay the balance ... and get pricing on having my two cars delivered to me!

Congrats on the purchase! Post up some pics when you get a chance! They all look the same be we always like to see a new car! :)

Congrates on the TTA, Sorry 'bout the Tahoe.

I've got a slide scanner. Send me a PM, maybe we can get together and I can scan them for ya.

Hi Glen:

Where are you located? I'm in Canton and work in Wayne. Thanks for the words about the Tahoe but God has worked this out in an amazing way. Check this out!

1) At 11 P.M. Saturday night within an hour of making calls I had a tow truck and cab arrive at the same time ... then the cab drove us to the airport. He was amazed at how it all came together.

2) Alamo told me $432 for one-way rental. When I called to confirm the price JUMPED to $1,240! I was not happy. The supervisor ... after saying nothing could be done ... gave me an $800 "pastor's" discount (she asked if I belonged to any 'clubs' and I was annoyed when I told her I pastored a church and some say that's a club!) ... so the final rental tab is $432. When I got to Alamo at the airport the clerk was shocked at the computer rate I had ... she said "who do u know?" lol

3) I've got another $90 into the cab to the airport

4) My friend who 'knows' someone at Reliable Car Carrier (the very best) gets me a 'friend's rate' of $2,200 door to door both cars enclosed. I began to make some calls and called Reliable by myself as any other customer and got $1,800 door to door both cars enclosed trailer.

5) My 100K warranty is being honored. 3rd gear was gone and could have been repaired BUT the dealer saw some mettalic flakes inside the case so GM agreed to put in a brand new tranny with 3 years/100,000 warranty at NO CHARGE!

6) I find out that my AAA has $1,000 insurance for expenses. My GM extended warranty has $275 in reimbursement for expenses.

7) So the $4,000 tranny
426 rent a car
90 cab
900 transport Tahoe
$5,416 Total cost

4,000 tranny GM Warr
1,000 AAA reimbursement
275 GM reimbursement
5,275 reimbursement

141 Total out of pocket after reimbursments! Wow ... God is good!

Hey Glen I'd love to have you help me out with those slides. I should have all the stuff with me when the car comes. I'm hoping sometime late next week before our Saturday Car Show!!!

If anyone is in Michigan or even Toledo ... this show is worth it for the whole family to come ... FREE EVERYTHING including food and rides and live music! It's a $400 day for a family of 4 for free!

Congrats PhillyD, I guess you won't be needin the phone number of the guy with the turbo Yugo for sale now huh?:furious:

Car arrived today but I'm in Boston visiting my dad who is ill ... even at 50 the thought of losing my dad is very hard ... leave me with no parents.

I'll see my car when I get back but right now hard to focus on exciting car drives ... who knows ... maybe when I see it. At least my wife - who was unenthused about the purchase ... says it looks awesome. Oh well.

Phil
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! Must be tough!
I tried to Paypal you tonight, but it wouldn't go through? I'll try again tomorrow. I'll swing by and see the car too.
Best of luck with your dad......

Congrats on getting the car. Sorry to hear about your pop. Lost mine when I was 25 so I know how that can suck. At least your doing the right thing and being where you need to be. I'm sure he appreciates that very much. The car will always be there and there will be others but you only get one pop. We'll throw some prayers out there for you. Best of luck with everything...

I hope things work out with your dad.
I am 52, and lucky to still have both of my parents.
I just saw them over the weekend.
I'm not sure what I'd do without my parents.
As for your wife saying the car looks great, I take it that she got to drive it, even if it was into the garage.;)

George :beach:

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys.

Mr. T ... no she didn't get to drive it from the depot or into the garage ... a trusted friend did! I would have let her but she would die if she got behind the wheel. I'm going to try and convince her to drive it when I get the new tires on it (get the originals off) ... she wouldn't even try the 4 spd 455 Goat ... this should be easier.

My wife and my daughter prefer to drive the TTA over my 2008 Corvette. I just have to keep reminding them that the TTA takes a little bit longer to stop, especially when the brakes are cold.

I saw Phils car and I must say it is very very near perfect! He really got a great car!
9200 mile car that looks like it has lived a very pampered life:thumbup:

Thanks Kid ... it was great having your car next to mine ... we'll have to take some great snap shots some day (maybe go to V6-Mi's house and get his out!) ... some night shots in Plymouth under the lights!

For those who sent their well wishes and thoughts ... thank you ... unfortunately my dad passed away on Saturday morning and I'm up here in Mass. again for the funeral ... going to NJ Thursday to bury my dad ... then visiting family and friends for a few days.

Pray for me ... but also for my 22 year old ... he was close with his grandfather and this will be his first personal experience with death.
